My place is situated on 1.3 acres of creek front property in the heart of Wasilla. It feels as if your in the Alaskan wilderness yet you are close to town for shopping, and is only a 30 minute drive to Anchorage. This room is cozy and has an infra red sauna for your use. I do have a dog named Daemon who is friendly and well trained. The neighborhood is beautiful with a 2.5 mile walking trail.I like hosting people and hope you enjoy my special abode in Alaska.
A large part of the property is woods with a trail that leads to the creek. There is a deck and chairs available for viewing wildlife and just enjoying the beauty. I've coined the phrase "Creek Therapy" as I have spent many hours in the peace and serenity. The Alaskan Railroad passes nearby and can be heard tooting its horn a few times a day. You'll hear my husky mix howl along with the train's whistle!
You'll have access to all common areas, including kitchen, living room with fireplace and definitely exploring the property. Come stay in the Salmon room for a real home away from home atmosphere. Designed for comfort and convenience this ground floor room spares no expense. A cozy queen size bed, high speed internet and a renovated bathroom await you. The bathroom is only a few steps away.
I like to socialize with my guests but also give them their own space as will. I am available to answer questions and help as needed.
As noted in the description my home is located about 300 feet from the railroad track. In the summer the historic Alaskan railroad passes by a few times a day. It does come by in the morning between 6:30-7:00 am.. Most of my guests like the ambience of the Alaska railroad. However, if you are sensitive to a train blowing its horn it would not be ideal for you.
Quiet hours 10pm. Smoking is permitted outside only. Pets on approval.
I like to have fun and meet new people. I am new to Airbnb but have rented to many traveling professionals. This is what Kate, a physical therapist from San Diego had to say, "I stayed at Nola's in-law cottage for six months while doing contract work for a local hospital. The house was my little paradise to return to everyday. As a traveler, I've stayed in several "corporate furnished apartments" that were void of style or much comfort, but not Nola's. Her place was not only impeccably clean and nicely furnished, but truly relaxing. The main house is only ten feet away from the cottage, but due to the way the houses are oriented there is plenty of privacy while sitting out on either of the two decks. I spent many hours in fall and winter exploring and relaxing out at Cottonwood Creek, which flows along the edge of the property, in total solitude. Moose often passed fifteen feet outside my window, and bald eagles can be seen flying over the property every day. Salmon and rainbow trout run the creek at the end of summer. It's amazing that the home is only five minutes from downtown Wasilla (and about two minutes from the nearest coffee stand!) and I could be at work in no time. If working from home, the internet was always sufficient, and the cottage has great light. The shower and water pressure is fantastic! Nola was the perfect host- always available if I needed anything, very communicative and friendly, but respectful of space. I would absolutely recommend staying a night or an entire season at Nola's if you find yourself visiting the Mat-
Su Valley! "
