I stayed at Carola's with my adult daughter for five nights and we happened to be her first airbnb guests. The full bed is large and comfortable, the room, however, is tiny, no space for bags or suitcases, bathroom is down the hall. The owner's bedroom is right next wall to the guest bedroom.
The whole house is tastefully furnished and decorated. Guests are to use a breakfast table on the front porch, where the sun hits early in the morning, we could use the kitchen while owner was present and watched. The pool is used by the host's Jack Russel Max, whom we liked, but then you should really like dogs if you stay here because he is mostly jumping at guests, leaving his traces on clothes and towels.
On our last evening, Carola expressed her disappointment in us, her first airbnb guests, for not having spent more time with her during our stay and visited Barbados sights with her instead of going out alone. We were also scolded for not having shown any gratitude for a change of towels she had performed and for not being able to buy our own toilet paper (we had dared to ask for a new roll a couple of days earlier). On top of that, she spoke in the most derogative way about a fellow Barbados hostess and her house - a place where we had stayed before and where we had felt very much at home. After having felt like intruders and a quiet discontent on the part of our hostess for five days, this outburst still came as a shock. My daughter felt so uncomfortable that she did not even want to stay for breakfast the next morning, so we left early with an empty stomach.
After 30 years of hostelling, (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) from home, airbnb and casas particulares etc. I have never experienced the like. It is obvious that I cannot recommend this place.
