This is truly luxury camping. There are just two spacious 4 - 6 berth Safari tents - set 40 meters apart in their own area of the meadow separated by a small copse of young silver birch trees. Both tents have two large bedrooms with comfortable beds, an interior shower room with a flushing toilet, and open plan living and dining areas with a large day bed sofa which converts to a comfortable double bed. They each have a fitted kitchen with a gas hob, sink and fridge, living/dining area, covered 3 x 5m terrace and an outside separate fire pit/ BBQ with seating area. Both tents share the one depth swimming pool in the centre of the meadow and the hot tub. The hot tub is at the top of the meadow from where you have a 180 degree view of the mountains. It sits next to a large cushioned sofa under the shade of a bamboo cabana, the cabana is heated on cooler days/evenings by a gas patio heater
Toubies Glamping is located in Lieu dit Toubies, which is well known for its peace and tranquility. Cars are therefore NOT permitted on the meadow. There is a parking area at the end of the lane and guests staying in the safari tents have a 2 or 3 minute walk from their car downhill through the trees to our secret meadow (Please note we meet all our guests when they arrive and leave to transport their luggage in our 4x4) Solar lanterns hanging from the trees to light your way - making it a really magical walk in the evening, or at returning from your favorite restaurant or a long day exploring this largely undiscovered part of France .
The meadow with its wonderful views is the ideal place to be as active or as lazy as the mood takes you. Go for walks through the woods taking in the amazing variety of wildlife, or amble along the woodland path to the local village where you will find a beautiful swimming lake surrounded by grassy sunbathing and play areas partially shaded by trees. There are also tennis and boules courts and a lovely bar/restaurant. Or, just stay at your beautiful canvas home relaxing on your terrace with a glass of wine and enjoying a swim in the 10m x 5m one depth swimming pool, which is in the centre of the sunny meadow and is for the sole use of our Safari tent guests. For complete relaxation you can bask in the large heated jacuzzi hidden away under its own shaded cabana overlooking the meadow. Everyone says this a very special place where you can gaze at the incredible views, spectacular sunsets and later in the evening looking up at a starlit sky. The two lodge tents are pitched 40 metres apart on sturdily built raised decks which incorporate a 3m x 5m terrace. The terrace is shaded and furnished with comfortable seating- providing an ideal place to eat and relax and take in the wonderful views. To add to the exciting experience of sleeping under canvas each tent also has its own fire pit area - where you sit and gaze up into the starry skies, and exchange stories by firelight well into the night.
Guests have their own 4- 6 berth Safari tent with their own, inside tent shower rooms and toilets, and access to a 10m x 5m x 1.2m depth above ground swimming pool and large (2m diameter) hot tub which is shared between the two tents. In addition to each tent having a large terrace overlooking the beautiful ever changing mountain views, there is a private seating area with fire pit/BBQ on the meadow just below each tent.

Garry and I are a British couple who've lived and worked in France for 11 years. We live on- site at Toubies, which is a small hamlet of 3 houses set in 22 acres of meadow and forest. We live in a converted stone barn that we've spent the last 5 years renovating, and our son and my sister own the other two properties (a cottage and a traditional stone Farmhouse) - so it is really a family hamlet!
We keep very busy with working on the houses and the land at Toubies, but it doesn't really feel like work as the surroundings are so beautiful. People are also very welcoming here and there is a strong community spirit with lots of opportunities to get involved in local activities to do with the arts, music and all sorts of practical skills. My passion is dance so you may see me rushing off with tap shoes in hand or driving off to a Lindy Hop class. We also love skiing but we take it a bit easier these days as we're not so young, but when the sun is shining and we can see the snow on the peaks we can't resist.....
We have 5 grown up children who visit regularly with their families and friends, so we're often out and about with them - walking, cycling (btw the Tour de France passes close by each year) and visiting attractions like the pre-historic caves. They also like the water activities in the spring and summer like canoeing, white water rafting and one of our son's does rock climbing with a local group. And, of course, we all love outings to the local cafes, restaurants, markets and shops.
This last year we've been very busy with planning and preparing our new venture 'Wildflower Meadow Glamping'. The Meadow is about 200m part way down the hill from our home and we felt it was just the perfect place to put our two lovely safari tents. It's where we often sit when we want a complete break from our busy lives, under the shade of the the huge oak trees, and gaze at the beautiful mountain views. It was while we were there that we both had the same idea that guests would love to come and share our secret meadow and that 'glamping' would be the ideal way of enjoying it - being outdoors and close to nature, and at the same time having fun and enjoying a bit of luxury.
This is our first year so you'll be our very first guests to come and review our Meadow, so please don't hesitate to get in touch if you want to know anything more about us and glamping at Wildflower Meadow.
