"Teișor"- "Little Linden Tree" is a comfy countryside home with a 15 acre yard - 100% private. When first purchased by Nicu and Adriana in 1998 it only had one tree... today it's a little piece of heaven! Trees, fruits, flowers!
Away from the noisy traffic, yet close to the main road. Only 20 min drive to Suceava town and 5 min to Dragomirna Monastery.
The spacious guest room is a former attic, looking over the flowers, the green grass, and the heat wave refuge spot under the walnut tree.
The guest room is a big 20sqm space with two single beds with night stands, a dresser, a drawer, a desk and a comfy chair and a coffee table in front of the big windows. There is no A/C in the room or anywhere else in the house. It was built so it’s chilly during summer and warm during winters. If the temperature is still too hot upstairs, a fan is available. All windows have mosquito nets, so it’s a delight to sleep with the windows open during summer nights.
Nicu and Adriana bought this house in 1998 and only in 2016 the renovations were finished and they were able to move in and make it their permanent home. Teișor has gone through many makeovers in the course of almost two decades, but we are proud to say the home as it is today is the result of the creative minds and the hard work of the entire family. We love all its imperfections - they stand testimony of Nicu’s self-taught craftsmanship and Adriana’s practical design ideas, as well as unforgettable family memories and stories.
To us, it's the perfect place for relaxation or a grill get together with friends and family!
Both retired, Nicu and Adriana enjoy the simple countryside life in their little piece of heaven where nature shows all its splendor season after season. Nicu takes care of the fruits and the vegetables - he's very proud of his pantry, while Adriana cares for the flowers and makes sure the house is always tidy and spotless clean.
Teișor can be reached from the main road by 5 minute walk or 2 minute drive, yet is it far away enough from it that the traffic doesn’t disturb the serenity of the house. From Suceava town, there is public transportation – minibus number 31 – which has a reliable fixed schedule. Twice a day it stops and goes to town from the station near the house, otherwise there is a 15 minute walk from the second nearest minibus station. A taxi ride costs around 30 lei (8 euro) one way. By car, follow the road leading to Dragomirna and at one point you have to turn right. The Suceava airport and train station are less than 30 minutes away.
Breakfast and dinner included (if requested). Eggs, milk, cottage cheese and cream are fresh every time, they are provided by local producers in the village. Depending on season, there are fruits, vegetables and herbs fresh from the garden - can be picked by yourself! (strawberries, cherries, sour cherries, apricots, plums, apples, grapes, walnuts, tomatoes, carrots, green onions, parsley, dill, etc). As an extra delight, there is always homemade wine and palinka available all year round.
Breakfast options are: toast (local white bread), butter, homemade jams, honey, tea (local plants infusion - including our signature tea: linden), coffee (decaf too), or yogurt with muesli. Home cooked dinner options are: soups, oven cooked/grilled meat, potatoes, fresh salads, pasta, cottage cheese and cream and polenta bread (Romanian dish). Dessert varies from cheese cakes to pancakes to fruit cakes to homemade ice cream and traditional sweet bread with walnuts and cocoa (cozonac).
Aside from eating to your heart's delight, other activities to do in house are: playing cards (10+ games), rummy, backgammon, checkers, chess, sudoku, etc. (for Romanians: crosswords puzzles, books and scrabble are available too). Or just watch TV/movies on the 121 cm (48'') screen or browse the internet at high speed. If you know/have other games, would be great to learn and play together!
We'll do our best to feel welcomed and have a good time at Teișor!
• Tap water is potable, but if you prefer spring water it's available for free in the kitchen in gallons with pumps.
• Please always take off your outside shoes and wear the provided slippers indoors (or walk barefoot - whatever is comfortable for you!) :)

Nicu and Adriana don’t speak English, but there are charts and instructions in English around the house. G.o.o.g.l.e. translate works very good for English/Romanian basic translations and vice versa, both Nicu and Adriana are computer literate so they know how to use their phones and tablets to help them communicate. There is always a Whats.app number and a local phone number available to call in case of need of special assistance. Their son lives in Suceava town and will help depending on his availability.
They are happy to welcome people from around the world, they have already hosted friends of their children many times and thus building a basic vocabulary to work with. If you speak Romanian, please request their phone number by message and all instructions will be given directly from them.
• If you're heading South and planning to explore the Danube Delta - try kayaking there! My friend Bogdan (MoWiTi on the social media platform with a face and a book @moments.without.time) does tours and his own wooden kayaks! :)
