Le Presbytere is a stunning 5 bed, 3 bath house set amongst vineyards and sunflower fields and situated on the River Lot, 5 minutes from the town of Puy L'Eveque.
Luxury accommodation and original features combine to make this a truly wonderful home, complete with sundeck, amazing views, scenery and sole use of a heated pool.
The house is spacious with authentic features such stone flooring and exposed brickwork. It has been carefully modernised to accommodate groups of friends and families.
The earliest part of Le Presbytère dates from the 14th century. The house has a great sense of space and has been carefully prepared to accommodate you during your stay. Packed full of original features, the thick walls make the house extremely cool in summer and cosy in winter.
On the ground floor, there is a large living room with cable TV and open fireplace. The large kitchen has a dining area to comfortably sit 10 people. A toilet is situated just off the kitchen.
Leading out from the kitchen, there is a shaded terrace with large eating area and BBQ. Sitting in the summer warmth you are surrounded by the cicadas and at night the clear sky comes complete with more stars than you can take in! The heated swimming pool features wide steps that are perfect for little ones to paddle and comes with a large terrace ready to host an abundance of sunbathers!
For parents: the pool can be easily accessed and is partially visible from the kitchen - 5 steps and you’re there. You can also see it from the shaded terrace eating area from where it is a few metres away. The pool has an electric shutter that guests are able to use to secure it at night time or when not in use.
There are five double bedrooms in total:
On the first floor, the master bedroom is extremely large and comes with ensuite bathroom (including shower and bath) and walk-in wardrobe. There are a further two double bedrooms with a shared bathroom (including shower).
On the second floor, the attic has two large double bedrooms with a bathroom (including shower) directly off one of the bedrooms. The other bedroom has a bunkbed and can be used for accommodating children (if you dare put them all together!).
There are lots of original exposed beams on the second floor, it’s full head height, but please be aware in some areas, ceilings are sloped.
The front of the house is a real sun-trap and perfect for eating lunch al fresco during the winter months. In the summer, the ping pong table keeps both the big ones and little ones amused. There is a separate utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.
The house is next door to a small church, only used these days for the occasional wedding!
It sits on the River Lot which can be accessed directly from the garden. The approach to the house is set among the vineyards and sunflower fields typical of the region.
There is ample parking and a no-through road outside the house. The garage is available on request.
The River Lot is famous for its carnivorous fish (incl. Black Bass, Carp and Catfish). The stretch of river running by the house is a well-known local fishing site. Night fishing runs all year round.
The area is very well-known for cycling and there are several recommended cycle routes near the house - you can even retrace some of the Tour de France route! Specialist cycle hire companies locally are able to deliver bikes to the house.
