The casita is at the end of a very quiet street tucked away behind wooden gates alongside the main house. The casita is built out of real adobe bricks creating a very quiet sanctuary.
The 'Franklin Ave Casita' is hidden from the street by a large timber framed portal. This indoor/outdoor space is a great covered and protected space to park your bikes, leave shoes, walking sticks and other outdoor gear. It is well lit with colorful lights and can be a very relaxing place to sit quietly with a glass of wine as it fills up with the evening sunset.
Through the red door is your casita. The hand plastered adobe walls are rounded and smooth and compliment the earthy terracotta colored brick floors. There is a comfortable queen sized bed with a comforter, throw and plenty of pillows. The couch can convert to a sleeper which we have found most comfortable when combined with the provided foam sleeping pad.
The equipped kitchen and refrigerator has what you will need for the basics though is not meant for lavish cooking. A counter-top 2 burner stove and a toaster oven fulfill most small space cooking necessities.
The full bath is spacious and well vented with a powerful and super quiet Panasonic exhaust fan.
The casita is well equipped with plenty of hooks and hangers and there is extra room in the portal and behind the back (white) door to store other bulky items you may have traveled with.
The a/c system is virtually silent and will keep you as cool as you like. In the winter, your toes are warmed with cozy radiant heat coming up through the bricks. Should you want to bump the heat quickly, there is a small portable electric heater which is really nice to use after a day of skiing.
Please note the casita is a totally private apartment though outdoor spaces are shared with your hosts Ingrid and Eric.
The casita has its own private entrance as you walk through the Japanese timber framed portal. Please make yourself at home in the casita as well as in the front and back yards and portal.
We would love to be able to greet you upon arrival. After that we are quiet and unobtrusive. Of course, if you need anything, we are happy to be available for whatever you may need.
There is a Sonos speaker on top of the kitchen shelves. If you have the Sonos app on your phone you should have access to this system.
- No noise please after 10pm.
