Asian influenced gem of a cabin in the marine forest of Oregon. A short walk to the wide, miles long beach. Antiques, art, solitude and privacy. One of three cedar cabins built in the 1970's, this has been upgraded throughout and an additional bedroom and bath added.
This is a magical place. You have the best of the beach and while it isn't beach front, you have a large dune that blocks the beachfront wind, so you can sit on the deck. The beach goes on for miles in each direction. There are three levels in the cabin. The main level as you enter the front door has the living, kitchen and dining table. Down two stairs is the anteroom to the master bedroom with ensuite sink, toilet and double headed travertine shower. This construction was done in 2015 and is like new. Two sets of antique Japanese doors on overhead tracks close off the anteroom as well as the bedroom. From the living room, a separate set of two steps accesses the other bathroom, with toilet and tub with shower. Up a flight of stairs is the second bedroom and an office overlooking the marine forest and back deck. The living room and upstairs ceiling has curved rafters, so some have said is it like being in a hobbit house or inside of a whale. The rear deck is huge and has a seasonal pond. The deck has a four place teak dining table and a barrel sauna. You will never see another like this cabin and it is definitely hand made by an artist.
The entire cabin, back deck, sauna and (uncovered) gravel parking space in front of the cabin. If you need additional space, the cabin next door is owned and operated by another Air BNB host, unrelated to this listing, but see:
I am 75 minutes away and available by cell phone. Best of all, Tracy, who takes care of the cabin, lives in the immediate neighborhood and is also available by cell and will be your primary contact.
The house is on a septic system. Nothing but natural stuff and toilet paper down the toilet. Taking shoes off is appreciated while inside- it keep the sand out and off the natural wood floors. There is wood from the property to keep you warm in the wood burning fireplace, but there are also electric heaters if you don't want to light a fire. I have purposely not offered traditional television- there is internet, netflix, DVD and cd players and a bluetooth Sony speaker, but no cable or satellite television-- on purpose. There are board games, sandboards for the adventurous, some books and DVDs.
- Due to being on a Septic System, nothing down the toilet but what is supposed to go down and toilet paper.
- No Pets
- No smoking
