You will love this cozy cabin nestled in the woods above the beautiful Twin Ponds, an idyllic private spot for swimming. Experience life on a working farmstead in the rolling hills of central Vermont.
We are located in the hills of central Vermont, close to good hiking, skiing and swimming. Your cabin is located on the land of Plant Spirit Farm & Fibers, a certified organic retail plant nursery, plant dye farm, and plant dye studio. March through June we are busy growing thousands of seedlings and July through October we are busy in our outdoor plant dye studio producing all our beautiful plant dyed fiber arts, and year round we are busy maintaining our very active and diversified homestead where we have dairy goats and a diary cow, growing nearly all our own food and medicine in our gardens, including fruit orchards and berry patches, we also raise chickens, ducks, and geese.
Your cabin is located about 100 feet down a short hill from where you park, through the woods overlooking the beautiful Twin Ponds. From the door of your cabin a trail leads you further down the hill, a five minute walk on switchback trail, to a beautiful swimming spot on the private lake. If you enjoy fishing you will find the waters loaded with fish. We have fishing poles you may use and fishing licences can be acquired at the local farm store, ask us for info. Your cabin has no electricity or plumbing. There is a communal outdoor kitchen, available May through mid-October, which has electricity and wifi, located up the hill from your cabin under a beautiful timber frame pavilion for your use. It has propane cooking burners, a refrigerator, a grill, and an outdoor kitchen sink with running drinkable water. We have an outdoor wood-fired oven which is often in use and we can gladly assist you in using it with notice. Your cabin is a three season cabin and has a wood stove, we can provide wood and assistance or instructions in lighting it if weather is chilly. An outhouse is located behind the cabin and there is also a composting toilet up by the communal kitchen. There is an outdoor shower which currently only runs cold water, we are planning to install a heated shower unit for spring of 2018.
This is one of two cabins at our place. We can accommodate groups of four by booking both cabins. See our other listing "Cozy Cabin with Sauna".
We would like our guests to experience the farm and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. We offer classes in plant dyed fiber arts in the summer perhaps you want to sign up for a class while you’re here. Learn about classes on our website. We are local farm and food enthusiasts and stay fairly well connected to this community. We are around to sell you fresh raw milk, dairy products, fresh veggies, herbs, and farm fresh eggs (depending on whether the ladies are laying or not!). We gladly give out recommendations for activities in the area, places to eat, and things to do.
Our property is very private and very safe.
