Spacious, historic home with plenty of tea, coffee and hospitality to share. Make yourself at home in our 1905 Colonial Revival just steps away from downtown. The Parlor room features vintage wallpaper, antique pocket doors and a newly renovated, private bathroom. Original brick paved street, handsome woodwork, and tons of natural sunlight- you might want to add a couple days onto your visit!
We love hosting and meeting our guests. We will happily respect your privacy/space and work to ensure you have the best possible experience at the Parlor!
We have a happy little boy and a very loving dog- you will surely have a couple new friends by the time you leave. That being said, we do not allow either of them in your space and recommend closing the doors behind you. :)
We expect guests to be kind, safe people who will be friendly and respectful to our family, our home, and our neighbors.
Absolutely zero drugs, firearms, violence, illegal activity, or smoking anywhere on our property. This is a historic, hardwood home so we cannot risk any potential sparks.
Please remove shoes while inside.
Please clean up after yourself.
Please be quiet if awake after 11pm.
Thank you! Rae & Ryan
I am a traveler, a writer, an art therapist, a cook, a creative thinker and happy friend. My husband Ryan and I have one son and one puppy, and we love our big and small adventures with them. Current things that excite me: meeting new people, learning how to use turmeric in foods and drinks, reading more Clarissa Pinkola Estes, planning to hike the Appalachian trail, and maybe becoming home owners soon. As of Summer 2015, I'm thrilled to be an Airbnb Community Leader in Chicago and mentor for new hosts- you'll be in good hands when you stay with us!
