Araul, the house name, means "sunny spot" in Welsh. This detached 3 bedroom holiday home is fitted out for families or small groups of friends as a base for exploring the fantastic coastline and countryside on your doorstep, not to mention the stunning Nefyn Golf Course nearby. The house can accommodate a maximum of 6 adults plus 2 children. We have tried to make Araul a place where you can relax and make use of all our facilities, including Fibre Broadband, Satellite TV and gas heating.
There is a large lounge with seating for 8 guests and a TV with Sky TV and a DVD player and for colder days an electric stove heater makes it really cosy.
The kitchen-diner has a large dining table and seating for 8. There is an electric oven and hob, a dishwasher, fridge/freezer washing machine and microwave, along with the usual kitchen items such as toaster, kettle, blender and sandwich maker. There is also a TV in the kitchen.
There is a washing machine in the kitchen and a tumble dryer in the garage plus a spare fridge/freezer in case you need the extra room.
One of the 3 bedrooms is downstairs making it suitable for those with mobility issues. This bedroom has a double bed, drawers, built in wardrobes and a TV. It is supplemented by en suite bathroom, comprising a toilet, wash basin and walk-in shower cubicle.
The two other bedrooms are upstairs. One has twin beds and built in wardrobe storage. The other can be flexibly arranged to sleep up to 2 adults and 2 children - the children in bunk beds (shortie) and two others in guest beds that can be pushed together to form a double or separated to form two twins. In this third bedroom there is also plenty of drawer space and a wardrobe.
Pillows, duvets and sheets are provided as well as hand towels and tea towels - all you need is to bring your own bath/beach towels!
Upstairs is also a family bathroom, tastefully decorated in blue and white with a shower over bath.
There is a large driveway, with safe off road parking for 2-3 cars behind the gates. The large lawned garden at the rear benefits from almost continuous sun on a bright day. There is plenty of seating and a table, allowing you to choose to eat outside if the weather is good or just step out to enjoy some fresh air and a morning coffee. We have added a cute little summerhouse at the bottom of the garden which you are welcome to use. There is also a BBQ.
There is a lockable store which you use for bikes, golf clubs etc.
We have some traditional board games for you to use and maps and books about the local area. There is also some children's toys and beach accessories such as buckets and spades. You are welcome to also make use of our deck chairs and windshield if you want to take a short walk (only 5 mins) down to the beach.
The maximum occupancy is 8 (6 adults plus 2 children) and so unfortunately we cannot take any additional guests.
You will be able to use the whole house, driveway and garden. We do have some items stored in the garage (small boats and DIY stuff) but there is plenty of room for you to put bikes/golf clubs etc in there.
We usually say a 4pm check in and 10am check out but sometimes we can be more flexible. Contact me if you have a special request.
I can be contacted by phone and do have some family/friends in the area who may be able to help if there is a problem. Sometimes I am nearby on changeover days too.
Our neighbours live here all year round and work during the week and so we ask you to be respectful of their peace and quiet. We are happy for you to have family gatherings and celebrations but please keep them low key and bear in mind that too much noise, especially late at night can be very annoying for residents.
Both sets of immediate neighbours have dogs but they are kept behind wall/fences and do not cause us any issues. Our garden is enclosed. We allow one well behaved dog per stay.
- Please do not wear shoes upstairs
- Please respect our neighbours and keep noise to a minimum
- The stairs may not be suitable for infants - please take your own precautions
I am a busy working mum, who with my husband, Grant, owns a holiday home on the beautiful Llyn Peninsula in Wales. We use the house ourselves but have been renting it out to other travelers when it is available.
We love walking on the beach, swimming in the sea (when it is warm enough!) and generally mooching around this lovely area.
