Set in 200 acres of rural Suffolk countryside, Carpenters Cottage is a traditional Victorian cottage originally built for the Carpenter who would have been responsible for the woodwork on the Thorington Hall Estate. Great care was take during it's last restoration to ensure that the original charm and authenticity was retained. Perfect for cycling, horse riding and long walks from your doorstep and for visiting the many coastal villages and towns along the superb coastline.
There are many original features at Carpenters Cottage. Although a wonderful, rural location, care must be taken when bringing children. The floors are all original and can be quite uneven to walk on, therefore, this may be unsuitable for small children. There is also a great barbecue for guests to use.
Guests have access to the whole house and garden, and areas of the farm as agreed with the owner on arrival.
Please call me if you need any assistance during your stay
Carpenters Cottage is a period property, and our guests love it's simplicity and authenticity. The water is sourced from the well!
- As this is a working farm, care must be taken if bringing children and pets must be kept under control!
- When bringing a pet... We understand how important it is for guests to be able to bring their pet with them on holiday and would request that you provide full details of the pet(s) who will be staying. Please ensure that your pet is: Housetrained, clean and dry and above 9 months of age. Free of fleas and worms and regularly treated (at least 4 weeks prior to stay) fully immunised. Kept under close control at all times and not left unsupervised at any point in the property or in the garden. Not allowed on any furniture or in bedrooms, or upstairs. Does not cause any nuisance or disturbance to neighbours. Please bring your pets beds, bedding, towels and bowls. Ensure that any evidence of dogs having ‘been’ in the garden is removed and disposed of regularly and responsibly. If extra housekeeping is incurred, for reasons such as excessive dirt, hair or any ‘deposits' left in the garden as a result of a pet staying at a property, charges will be deducted from the Deposit Against Damage.
We are a small, independent holiday lettings agency based in Suffolk, called CottageTree Ltd. We also manage the bookings for some of our cottage owners through Airbnb, which enables you, the guest, to have confidence in the property that you are considering booking, and the service that you will receive throughout your stay.
We both live in Suffolk and visit all of the properties that we manage and so are able to answer any questions that you might have. We are also very happy to help and advise on places to explore, and (our favourite past-time) restaurants, pubs and cafes.
