Hi! I'm an avid traveler and have made my home in various places in our wonderful world. I enjoy sharing my space(s) with like-minded travelers-- people who enjoy encountering a new place and then taking the time to get to know it, the local people, and the customs and culture.
As a host, I'm careful to plan for your comfort and then let you inhabit the place as if you were in your own home.
As a guest, I'm respectful of your space and mostly like to get to know the local area by walking around in it and seeing what piques my interest. While I'm interested in the major sights to be seen, I'm often more interested in striking up a conversation with a local in a cafe.
I'm very interested in language, written and oral. Born in New Orleans, Louisiana, English is my native language, but I speak pretty good Spanish, passable Dutch, and a tiny bit of French. The best way to improve language skills is by immersing oneself in it. That's part of why I travel so much and I enjoy any opportunity to practice!
If I have a life motto, it is that "the way we spend our days is the way we spend our lives." That means I try to have as many good days as possible so that together they all add up to a life I truly love... So far, so good!
