The apartment is in a lovely area, convenient to the bus and ferry (about a 10min walk) and with a very family friendly feel, plus a beautiful children's park on the water front where the sea planes take off from. There are good restaurants within walking distance and a local supermarket. Gabrielle was easy to contact prior to our visit and we dealt with her neighbour during our stay, who was brilliant and very accommodating.
The apartment has a homely feel, comfortable master bed, good shower and a large number of books and toys available that kept our two young children entertained. Because the apartment is Gabrielle’s home, it has many personal items and belongings around the place and meant there wasn’t really the cupboard space to unpack our clothes. The apartment has a 'lived in feel' in comparison to apartments set up as rental accommodation so some areas could be cleaner, but in general it is a bright modern apartment, with all main appliances available for use. We had anticipated the upstairs room being a bedroom for our 4 year old but it turned out not to be viable because of the steep spiral stairs, items/electrical equipment housed up there and the distance to the master bedroom. However Gabrielle’s neighbour kindly lent us a inflatable bed which easily fitted into the second bedroom with the cot and worked fine during our stay.
There are two comfortable seats in the living room which were fine for us as the children spent most of the time on the floor, but probably not ideal for more than two adults unless you are good chilling on the bar stools. We were there for 4 nights which were all very peaceful and quiet apart from Thursday morning when the dustin trucks arrived at 5:30am outside the bedroom windows. In all a comfortable stay and good location in which to explore Sydney.
