The apartment is large and light. Smoking is permitted but guests are encouraged to do so on one of the balconies. The two couches on the main balcony open into beds and can be used to fully relax in the sun. The single room has an over-sized (extra-long) bed and shares a balcony with the room next to it. A cleaning lady visits three times per week, usually on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday morning. The building is secured and there is a doorman.
In the middle of the popular Badaro neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants, pubs, and small stores, the National Museum & the Horsch Beirut park. 15-minute drive to airport and downtown Beirut. 10-minute drive to Monot, Gemmazeh, & Mar Mikhael. Large apartment (7th floor with privacy & views), main balcony furnished as a lounge area, cozy separate TV room, the residents (Dutch/American) able to share the ins and outs of Beirut, two cats. Good for singles and business travelers. There is also a double bedroom with private balcony available (to be found under a separate listing named Comfy single room in heart of Badaro).
Other than the bedroom guests can access the living room, the main balcony, a small cozy separate TV room, all 2.5 bathrooms, the kitchen and the room next to the kitchen which has 2 fridges and a breakfast/dining table.
Both the hostess and the second permanent resident (both women, one American/Dutch, the other Dutch) are available to provide tips on where to go, how to get there, etiquette, etc. The hostess works from home and will sometimes request privacy in the living room. From time to time the hostess's son will also stay in the apartment; he is helpful and full of information on Lebanese politics and nightlife.
There are two cats in the apartment, Antar and Teo. Antar is very calm and quiet, Antar tends to demand a lot of love.
