Pat's Place was very serene and relaxing . The home was large enough to accommodate 6 adults and children. The grounds were well landscaped with many different flowers . The guys were able to walk down to their boat that was moored, which was arranged by Pat. I wished we could've stayed longer however it was booked out. Loved it.
Pat's place is delightful. It has a welcoming kitchen with room for a big family. Upstairs there are three bedrooms. One bedroom has bunk beds plus a double bed. The other two bedrooms each have a queen bed. Downstairs there is a single bed to the side of the living room. There is a bathroom with a shower on the main floor and a full bathroom plus a 1/2 bath upstairs. There is a washer and dryer. Bamfield is a fisherman's paradise. Not being fishermen, we entertained ourselves by taking the water taxi to West Bamfield and walking to Brady's beach (well worth the walk) and followed the boardwalk back to the water taxi. We also went out on Paul's boat (Pirate Tours) to see the sights (seals, eagles, abandoned native village, etc.). I highly recommend both. This is a wonderful place to stay if you want to get away from city life. Note: the road from Port Alberni to Bamfield is rough but not so rough that you need four wheel drive. It is gravel the whole way. We drove about 50 to 60 km/hour and it took about 2 and 1/2 hours. I would not like to drive this road at night or during inclement weather.
