A hidden gem near the heart of DuPont circle, this is a renovated two, bedroom third floor penthouse apartment with plenty of natural light, vaulted ceilings, historic charm and a spacious floor plan. The apartment is over 1,600 square feet, with 2 full bathrooms, and boasts views of both Connecticut Ave NW and 20th St NW. This apartment is just steps to everything you might need while you are enjoying your time in Washington, DC.
Enter the red door on 20th St NW and walk up the 2 flights of stairs that lead up to the third-floor penthouse apartment where you enter on 20th street. The apartment boasts all the necessary appliances/housewares; quartz counter tops; hardwood floors; skylights; vaulted ceilings; french doors; original artwork; colorful decor; in-unit washer dryer; and 2 marble fireplaces. There is a queen-sized bed in one room and a king-sized bed in the master bedroom, which has an en suite bathroom. The second bathroom is not attached to the second bedroom, but is adjacent to it and the living room. Linens and Towels are provided. There is a desk in the living room perfect for a work space and a couch that folds down into a full sized futon. There is wi-fi in the apartment. The apartment is only accessible by stairs and the staircase is quite narrow.
The entry door on the street level is shared with the back (employee) entry for two tenants- one retail shop and one restaurant. The apartment has its own entry door at the top of the 2 flights of stairs. Both doors use electronic keypads. The entry door is next to a place called Spa Logic (nail salon).
I can be available if necessary, but like to remain mostly hands off, so you can enjoy your privacy!
The main entry door from the street is shared with a restaurant and a retail shop (just an employee entry), so you may run into an employee or two while you are entering/exiting. They like to leave that outer door unlocked during the day so it is easier for them to go in and out. They always lock it after the last employee leaves each night. There is a double lock on the apartment door for extra safety.
The entryway and stairwell up to the apartment leave much to be desired, but remember to never judge a book by its cover.
This third floor apartment is only accessible by stairs- there is no elevator.
Both doors have electronic keypads, but I have backup keys as well if something goes wrong.
The airbeds are 1 queen mattress, 2 twin mattresses.
The fireplaces are not to be used.
There are stairs inside of the apartment behind the couch that lead only to a storage loft and is not to be entered. This is storage for me and for some construction materials/paint.
No party policy.
Though Cannabis is legal in DC, its prohibited to smoke either tobacco products or marijuana inside this Airbnb.
Floors are easily scuffed, so please be mindful of shoes you wear throughout the apartment.
The fireplaces are not to be used.
The storage loft at the top of the in-unit stairs is to be left alone.
I am a young professional in Washington, DC who hails from Northern Virginia. I have an eye for design and creative arts, and consider myself a foodie. When I travel alone, I like down time and privacy, but when traveling in groups I am keen on a lot of sightseeing and eating out. As a host, I will keep my distance, but can be there in an emergency. I am super easy-going, talkative and friendly, so don't hesitate to ask me anything!
