The Studio Room is upstairs of the main house and is the largest room available with an extra wooden Indonesian day bed. It has its own private kitchenette and a verandah with a sitting area overlooking the pool. It is directly accessed by stairs in the reception area. The Studio Room has air-conditioning, fast Wifi, large private bathroom and toilet. It is simply furnished with a quality comfortable bed, linen and furniture.
The house is designed with a fusion of western and Balinese concepts and is set away from the main road in the quiet neighbourhood of Nyuh Kuning next to the famous Monkey Forest. Within a 5 to 20 minutes walk are local shops selling fruit/veggies and small grocery items, vegetarian and vegan cafes, Japanese, Indian and seafood restaurants, warungs (local eateries), temples, massage beauty spas.
Essential toiletries such as soap, shampoo and conditioner are provided and linen and towels are changed once a week. You may request for change of linen and towels if needed at additional cost. We would appreciate it if the air-conditioning is turned off whenever you leave the property.
We aim to provide a warm Balinese homely feeling and hope we have achieved this through our own style to make your stay as comfortable and homely as possible.
As our guests you are welcome to use your allocated room in complete privacy. You are also welcome to make use of the fully equipped open kitchen and dining area to cook or fix a smoothie or cocktail for relaxing by the pool but we would like you to keep in mind to respect the other guests by cleaning after yourself and ensuring noise is kept at a reasonable level for everyone's comfort. Bali coffee, tea and drinking water are complimentary and available in the kitchens. Between 8am and 10am a simple but delicious breakfast of mix fruit plate and banana pancake or 2 eggs (scrambled or sunny side up) is available at an extra cost of IDR25,000 per person and must be pre-arranged the day before. Should you require any other meals during your stay I am more than happy to cater for you from my Ubud Mama Warung which is only 5 minutes away.
The property is at the end of a quiet residential lane only accessible by a 2-minute walk or short scooter ride from the main road. Staff will assist with carrying your luggage to the villa.
Read the villa description thoroughly and keep in mind the villa is only accessible by walking a 200-meter or more residential pathway. In saying that we have had many families with children and elderly people comfortably walk in and out of the pathway. The villa has residential gekkos and tokeks which keep the mosquito population in check. If you are going to be precious about little lizard like beings which would rather die than be anywhere near a human then the villa is not for you. Children and infants must always be supervised by adults especially around the pool. Smoking is only permitted outside of the rooms, in the common areas or by the pool. Both smokers and non-smokers must compromise to co-exist in a harmonious way. Additional bedding for infants, children or extra adult must be pre-arranged during the emailing process. It is a requirement by Indonesian law that each guest must provide a copy of their passport upon check in.
We are an easy going family with traditional Balinese values and strong belief of respect and honour. We enjoy interacting with our guests who come from all over the world and love to share recommendations of where to look for authentic Balinese experiences, things to do, where to shop and how to relax and enjoy our island of the Gods. We realize we are all different which makes it fun but expect our guests to behave with respect and treat our property as they would like others to treat their own homes.
I am a Balinese mother and wife and live with my husband, 2 children and parents-in-law in the village of Nyuh Kuning. I love to cook and serve food at my local warung, Ubud Mama Warung. My husband has his own transport and tour service business, Sarvagatah Touring Service and we both enjoy interacting with travelers from different parts of the world. We love to travel and plan to take our children to Thailand this year. We took our children to Singapore a couple of years ago and would love to take them to other countries in the future. We are proud of our heritage and love our way of life here in Bali. We would like to share true Balinese hospitality with our guests and are happy to show you all the beautiful traditions, food and experiences our little island has to offer. We will try to always be available to help you have a memorable stay in our beautiful and comfortable house. My husband and I and our children are easy going and happy to welcome you into our lives. We would like to think that each and every one of our guests would leave us feeling connected as one of our family and friends.
My family and I do not live on this property but our family home is about 500metres away and we are only a phone call away. Bali coffee, black tea bags and drinking water is complimentary. All rooms are air-conditioned and would like to ask our guests to please turn off the airconditioners whenever they leave their rooms on day trips or outings. We are conscious of water usage and would ask each guests to be aware of their water consumption. We have a beautiful and comfortable house and garden and would like each of our guests to treat it as their own little home away from home and expect each guests to respect each other and to treat the property with respect.
