We are a large family with a built in "granny", we have a number of dogs and private kennels to the rear of the property, we also have a serial killing cat employed to keep the local small wildlife in check. Creativity is important to us from creating recipes in the kitchen, writing, drawing & painting. We all like our music and the many genres can often be heard around the house and outside. We also appreciate a relaxed and quiet evening with everything being toned down by 9 pm and the house becoming very quiet. As a working household the house starts to wake quietly from 5 am with children and young adults getting ready for school and work. Our water supply is from the nearby by river Lon Ruadh so the water pressure can be variable but you will always get a comfortable shower. We appreciate shoes being removed upon entry into the house and if you have muddy boots we have an outside tap to wash them down. We are a friendly family and fairly knowledgeable to our surroundings a short distance from our house is a Viking settlement (Dun Suntavaig) with various Broch's and other heritage sites being nearby and easily located on the Ordnance Survey map. We are a short drive from the Fairy Glen with various places to eat and visit. We have WIFI (code available) which is sporadic and generally poor (we are over five miles from the nearest exchange and Superfast Broadband is unlikely to be available before the next manned space flight to Jupiter). You can use our kitchen for making hot drinks but we would like to guests to not eat any food in the bedroom. The garden is large and a work in progress with stunning views of Loch Snizort and the Western Isles, the sunsets, sunrises and night sky make for an incredible experience. We are five miles from Uig & the ferry terminal (the gateway to the Western Isles) and 10 miles from Portree. We are situated alongside the A87 main road and are easy to find. We offer a luxury continental breakfast and one of us will be on hand to make your hot drinks, toast etc in the morning. We have a selection of books and local information available.
The en suite bedroom has a double bed sprung with a medium to firm pillow topped mattress, desk, wardrobe and chair with views up the glen. We want you to have a great stay and will be on hand to advise and support.
