Our 1200 sq. ft. home was built in 1961. It is in a very quiet, safe neighborhood surrounded by other mid-century modern homes. Just a 4 minute drive to downtown or I-10, near bus lines and the new Tucson Streetcar, we have a skyline view and excellent (EASY) desert hiking trails within a 2 minute walk. We are an 8 minute walk from the popular hiking spot Tumamoc Hill.
We are now totally solar powered!
Our home is 2 bedrooms total, with one spacious bathroom and a spacious kitchen/dining room. The bedroom has a queen bed with closet and can accommodate a twin-size air mattress/cot (not provided). There is also a large patio and backyard with a chiminea fire pit (Juniper firewood supplied), and a large grapefruit tree (you are welcome to fruit, in season!). We have HBO Go, Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, & Netflix. There is a 55 inch TV in the living room with LG Soundbar. Wifi, floor space, yoga mats, lots of walking paths, and some wonderful restaurants nearby, as well as everything downtown has to offer just a (very) short Uber/Lyft ride away (~$8). There is also plenty of parking space in the driveway and on the street directly in front of our home.
We are proud to say we are now 100% solar powered!
Kitchen, bathroom, patio, outdoor fire pit, backyard, dining room with chairs for 6, living room/common space, newer model propane Weber grill.
I am happy to show guests around town as much as my schedule permits, or share a list of my favorite activities/destinations. I love Tucson and am happy to share as much of my knowledge as guests would like, or to give as much space as desired. :)
I have two very friendly dogs. One is a 8 year old Maltese named Charlie, the other is a 5 year old pit mix named Pig. They have free range of the backyard during the day, and stay in my room with me at night. When guests are staying they will be in my room or the backyard for as much of the stay as possible. Your FRIENDLY and VACCINATED pets are welcome to stay here as well and have the same access to the backyard via large patio doors. The yard is fenced/walled in, and safe for non-jumping animals. There is fresh water on the patio in the shade each day. (Please let me know if you are bringing your furry friend, and if so, what type/breed/age. Cats, etc. are totally welcome as well, my dogs will be super nice and respectful. They have experience with cats, small dogs, birds, and have never given the stink eye to another creature.)
- Smoking allowed only outside and with proper disposal of trash.
- No excessive noise after 10pm.
- CHECK OUT TIME IS STRICT. I am happy to accommodate late check outs when available but you must bring this up with me in advance. There will be no late check outs tolerated without prior notice to Host.
I love Tucson. I also love road trips, and especially exploring the Southwest. I have lived in Arizona for 5 years and have had the opportunity to explore much of the area, but still have so much left to see and do! I absolutely love sharing my knowledge and passion for this city. I would be so glad to help you make the most of your time here in Tucson, even if you don't have much free time.
Some of my hobbies & loves are: knitting/crocheting, creating art, seeing art, walking, my two pups, and trying new restaurants/new foods.
It's so hard for me to choose a favorite travel destination because I basically love everywhere I have ever been. I have had the opportunity to explore much of the US by road trips, and have spent some time abroad in Spain and France.
