Your own slice of paradise! A self-contained unit with private entrance that is a 3-minute walk from Santa Barbara's "secret" beach. Comfortably sleeps 2 . Have coffee on the porch and then take a stroll down to the beach!
Location! Across the street from one beach; a 10-minute walk (1 minute drive) from another (- and a great beach to learn how to surf.) The harbour is just beyond that and State Street/Downtown a little further.
This studio apartment is detached from the main house and has it's own access. Coming and going is very private. No interaction with the host is needed. However if you need anything we'll be close by.
This space is perfect for a couple. It includes a very comfortable queen bed.
We have an HD TV and Netflix streaming + a DVD player.
This studio has a patio with lots of sun and shade. The patio has room to dry wetsuits, park (your own) bikes, and take in ocean air.
The chalet is not appropriate for large groups or a loud get together.
The chalet is separate from the main house and has it's own access. There is a peaceful sitting area right outside of chalet in backyard.
I work from home most of the time, so I will be here, but you have your own space and access. So if you need me, I will be around, otherwise, you have your privacy.
Kitchenette has a fridge, coffee-maker, microwave and toaster-oven. No stove. No kitchen sink. Also note the bathtub. It is cute and quaint. It is for showers. If you need to take a bath, this is not the place. If you want to say, "it had a cute clawfoot tub", you've hit the jackpot! :)
We have a big love-bug dog called "Brisket." She is super-friendly and laid-back. However, if dogs are not your thing, we can keep her out of the yard when you are around.
2 people maximum. (I will consider a kid - and can provide an air mattress if needed - for a $15 per night surcharge) This is a quiet area so party-hearty folk would do better elsewhere... But if you are looking for some R&R and to be a 2 minute stroll from the beach, this is the place!

* "Terms and Conditions" for Hosting guests: Sorry for the legal sounding stuff here -- I hope it will never be necessary, but have to make sure everyone is on the same page regarding risk and liability when staying at the "chalet". Accordingly, it is important for any person who wishes to stay at the chalet through an Airbnb reservation to agree to the following Terms and Conditions:
Other Terms and Conditions: The Owner has the right to inspect the premises at any time to enforce the terms of this agreement. Should the Tenants violate any of the terms of this agreement, the rental period shall be terminated immediately.
The Tenant shall dispose of all waste material generated during the rental period in a lawful manner and put the trash in the bin provided. If waste generated is in excess of the bin provided, Tenant shall use trash and recycling cans in driveway of main house.
The Tenant shall not sublet the property. Additionally, the Tenant shall have no more than the people listed in the contract reside or sleep on the premises. Violation of this will result in immediate termination of the contract.
The Tenants shall behave in a civilized manner and shall be good neighbors respecting the rights of the surrounding property owners. The Tenants shall not create noise or disturbances likely to disturb or annoy the surrounding property owners. Creating a disturbance of the above nature shall be grounds for immediate termination of this agreement and Tenants shall then immediately vacate the premises.
There shall be absolutely no smoking inside or around the premises.
No reimbursement will be made for unused consumables left at the premises. If consumables exist at the premises when the Tenant arrives the Tenant is free to use them during their stay.
The Tenant and Tenants' Guests shall hereby indemnify and hold harmless the Owner against any and all claims of personal injury or property damage or loss arising from use of the premises regardless of the nature of the accident, injury or loss. Tenant expressly recognize that any insurance for property damage or loss which the Owner may maintain on the property does not cover the personal property of Tenants, and that Tenants should purchase their own insurance for Tenants and Guests if such coverage is desired.
We occasionally experience outages that are beyond our control. We report outages as each occurs. No refunds or compensation will be given for any outages. No firearms shall be allowed on the premises. Tenant agrees that Fireworks and other hazardous materials shall not be used in or around the property.
Tenant shall use the property for legal purposes only and other use, such as but not limited to, illegal drug use, abuse of any person, harboring fugitives, etc., shall cause termination of this agreement with no refund of rents or deposits and any legal means will be pursued by the Owner in terms of violation of this agreement.
Tenant is advised that the property contains electric heating and several appliances. Tenant will seek help from owner if the proper operation of such items is not fully understood.
The property has a fire extinguisher in the kitchen. The fire extinguisher was fully charged at last inspection. It is the duty of the tenant to inform owner immediately should the fire extinguisher become less than fully charged. Tenant agrees to use the fire extinguisher only for true emergencies.
The property has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors installed and they are believed to function properly at the time of rental. Tenant will notify management without delay if a detector “chirps" or has a low battery condition.
Valuable items left behind by tenant will be held for the tenant and reasonable effort will be made to contact the tenant for return. If items are not claimed for longer than 6 months they shall become the property of the Owner. The Owner shall not be held liable for condition of said items.
Streaming video is provided and the service has been chosen by the Owner. No refund of rents shall be given for outages, content, lack of content or personal preferences with regard to streaming service. High-speed wireless internet is provided as a convenience only and is not integral to the agreement. No refund of rents shall be given for outages, content, lack of content, speed, access problems, lack of knowledge of use, or personal preferences with regard to internet or streaming service. Tenant agrees to only upload and download content legally owned by tenant.
Tenant agrees that the electric indoor heat will only be used while they are physically present inside the premises and that doors and windows shall be closed when heater is in operation.
Tenant agrees to take reasonable measures to ensure sand does not get washed down the bathroom drains. Sand can be rinsed off with the hose, outdoor shower, or toweled off.
NO Pets are allowed. Any legal means will be pursued by the Owner in terms of violation of this agreement.
Additionally, Owner assumes no responsibility or liability for any injuries incurred while staying at the Rental Property. Owner also assumes no responsibility or liability related to malfunction of anything at the Rental Property.
Owner is not responsible for items that become non-functional during the Tenants stay. Owner will take steps to repair or remediate any issues as quickly as possible; however, by reserving the property through Airbnb which in turn accepts this agreement, Tenant acknowledges that the Owner has no obligation to provide refunds based on issues out the control of the owner.
Tenant agrees to pay all reasonable costs, attorney's fees and expenses that shall be made or incurred by Owner enforcing this agreement. Tenant expressly acknowledges and agrees that this Agreement is for transient occupancy of the Property, and that Tenants do not intend to make the property a residence or household.
Tenant also agrees to the following Terms and Conditions upon signing this Agreement:
1. Any violation of the Terms and Conditions outlined in this Agreement are subject to forfeiture of the entire security deposit and immediate vacancy of the Rental Property by the Tenant even if rental period is not fulfilled.
2. Absolutely no parties, no smoking, no illegal drug use, no excessive drinking, and absolutely NO excessive noise. Neighbor complaints will result in forfeiture of deposit.
3. Any animals brought to the Rental Property will be considered a violation of the Terms and Conditions of this Agreement.
4. Absolutely no interior or exterior modifications to the unit.
5.Please conserve energy and water by keeping lights and heater off when not needed, and turning off sink while brushing teeth and taking short showers.
6. Absolutely no more guests than indicated in the original reservation request are allowed to stay in the unit during the rental period as per the initial rental inquiry.
7. Any reservation obtained under false pretense will be subject to forfeiture of advance payment, deposit and/or rental money, and the party will not be permitted to check-in.
8. Any exceptions to the above mentioned policies must be approved in writing in advance.
9. Please be mindful of the neighbors adjacent to the Rental Property.
10. There is no daily maid service as part of this rental agreement.
11. No sand washed down bathroom drains.
