Comfortable and spacious home in bush setting. Self contained ground floor guest accommodation includes lounge/television area with wood-fired heater. Restful bedroom with double bed, garden views, and spa bathroom. Bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities. Bed linen and bath towels provided. No cooking facilities, however, excellent cafes and restaurants within 5 minutes drive, and Bells at Killcare just 200 metres up the road. Our friendly border collie Chips lives with us upstairs.
Suitable short stay accommodation for two guests or solo travellers. Children cannot be accommodated for safety reasons, plus we only have space for a maximum of two adults. Public transport is not an option for this part of the central coast, so your own transport is essential to fully explore the scenic bush meets bay and ocean settings of this and other nearby central coast areas.
Our guests can enjoy the outstanding natural beauty of the Bouddi Peninsula, famous for its unique bush, beach and bay surrounds and the many National Park walking trails. Explore the linked communities of Hardys Bay, Pretty Beach, and Wagstaffe, where you can board a 30 minute ferry ride to Palm Beach. Enjoy the excellent local cafes and restaurants, or a dip in the ocean at Killcare or Putty Beach. Lots to see and do - or just relax and unwind.
We like to welcome guests on arrival to our home, and let them know what's happening locally. For example, the Anzac Day at Hardys Bay Club is a very popular day, with locals and visitors alike enjoying the 11am Memorial Service before the two-up game starting at 1pm. Trash and Treasure is also a regular Wagstaffe Easter Saturday fixture, where many pre-loved bargains can be purchased for just a few dollars. Waterfront Carols by Candlelight happen just before Christmas - there's always something going on in the Bay.
Breakfast cereal, tea, coffee and milk are provided for guests. Checkout time is by 10.30am, to allow turnaround time for incoming guests. Exceptions can be requested by contact with Jeremy, and invariably will not be a problem if there are no incoming guests on the day.
- By making a reservation, guest automatically agree that the hosts are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illness that may occur whilst on our property. Please bring your own beach accessories - towels, umbrella's etc.

Born in England, I began a career in film and television, becoming a film editor working on broadcast documentaries before going to work in New York. Later film engagements included music editing for Hanna Barbera animation programs in Hollywood.
I came to Australia in the late 1970’s on a working holiday, spending a year in Melbourne before coming to work for ABC Television drama and documentaries in Sydney.
Being from the land of grey skies and long cold winters, I immediately took to the warm climate and the friendly natives, my banana-bender wife Kay being one of these people. I became an Australian resident before gaining dual citizenship, and now two children later, both adult and enjoying their own families, we found ourselves empty-nesters. Last holiday we decided to test the Airbnb waters by becoming guests, had very positive experiences before deciding to become hosts ourselves, and opening our spacious home to visitors. Airbnb members are very welcome to The Bouddi Retreat.
