My place is close to everything Asheville: downtown, the River Arts District, Biltmore, Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking, biking, water sports. You’ll love my place because this cozy, private studio apartment is UPSTAIRS in a new home, with private entrance; queen bed, with bath and sitting/TV room and kitchenette. Continental breakfast included. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. ALL are welcome.
The cozy, private studio apartment is on the 2nd level. The comfy queen bed and bath, sitting area and kitchenette are perfect for two. The bathroom has only a shower though; no tub. The kitchenette includes a full apartment-sized refrigerator, a two-burner hot plate, (with a vented hood above it), microwave, kitchen sink, cabinet and basic dishes. There is also cabinet space if you want to store food & drink.
We will provide items for your continental breakfast so you may enjoy it in your suite, or you are welcome to join us for continental breakfast on the main level.
The studio has independent heating and air conditioning as well as access to our private WiFi.
Instead of cable, our antenna reaches all the network and public channels - in HD. Also via our WiFi you can access your Netflix, Hulu or other streaming accounts.
We also have a fun collection of old and classic movies (DVDs and, even some old video cassettes) in the great room on the main level and you’re welcome to join us for movie time.
After we welcome you and help you get settled upstairs, you may enter and leave through the main part of the house or privately through the side door in the garage.
Throughout your stay you are welcome to join us on the main level in the kitchen, great room, sunroom, decks and garden. If you’re an early riser, you can enjoy your coffee or tea while watching the sunrise over the mountains from our sunroom or rear deck on the main level. From the front porch on the main level, you may witness dazzling sunsets over the mountains.
If you stay in for an evening, you may enjoy our board games or join us to view a movie in the great room.
We look forward to greeting you and helping you get settled in. From that point, you can set the pace for as little or as much interaction as you like. We want to make your stay just right for you.
We are happy to offer a continental breakfast each morning.
If you need space for a party of four adults, send us an inquiry about availability in the 2nd Airbnb space in our home.
We have completed the City of Asheville's requirements for certification as a "Home Stay" location. We are happy to show your our certificate.

Michael and I moved to Asheville in late 2011 and built our arts and crafts cottage in 2013. I grew up in New Orleans and we enjoy getting back to the “Big Easy” as often as possible. You’ll see flavors of New Orleans around our home. My work as a licensed esthetician has taken me to Atlanta, St. Lucia and Saint Simons Island, GA as well as New Orleans.
Michael grew up in the Atlanta area and has lived and worked around the world. After spending 3 1/2 years in western Ethiopia, he lived in Indonesia for 7 years, then Indianapolis for about 15 years.
Michael’s work in international nonprofits has allowed us to travel together in Asia, Africa and South America. You’ll see hints of those travels in our home. Since my father was born in Sicily, we have enjoyed reconnecting with family back in the “old country.”
I am a bit of a cinemaphile. In addition to my collection of old movies (even some old video cassettes - - and yes we still have a VCR in addition to our DVD player), I enjoy the oldies and classics on TV and Netflix. I also enjoy cooking - - occasionally resorting to some of my old "N’awlins" dishes.
We enjoy gardening. I specialize on the designing and Michael handles a lot of the physical work - - at least outside. I love creating and tending miniature gardens that enjoy the year-round beauty of our sunroom.
Since Michael recently retired, we’re doing some extra travel. And my years of dancing on stage and theatre just wouldn't let me go, so I continue to enjoy tap and modern dance.
