Private self-contained master bedroom in a beautiful, spacious, quiet house in Bukoto. The bedroom is huge, there are 2 wardrobes with both hangars and shelves, and it has a king size bed with a mosquito net. There is a "changing room" between the bedroom and your private bathroom, in case you have the needs of a Victorian lady. There are big windows so it's bright during the day. Ideal for individual, couple, or business traveler, especially if you're here for a few months.
This is a shared house. There are currently 2 women living here, our usual third housemate is on maternity leave in the US. We have a live-in caretaker/guard and maid. Laundry is done 3 times a week and the house is cleaned each day.
You can use the kitchen and all supplies in the kitchen including gas stove and small oven, kettle, blender, dishes, and spices (just don't eat our food please). You are welcome to use the dining room, the sitting room, the verandah, and the garden. We like to cook together and watch John Oliver, and you're always welcome to join!
I have a strange schedule as a yoga teacher, but am often working from home during the day so I am very available, but also have to work! Bree is generally around on evenings and weekends. We are very friendly and laid back and happy to make recommendations or answer questions.
We have a cat named Porky who is very playful.
- Water heater should only be left on for 30 min.
- Do not wear shoes inside the house.
- Be kind to everyone living here, including the cat, and our guests.
I have been living in Uganda (between Gulu and Kampala) for 3 years. Taking a cue from most Ugandans, I am involved in several ventures: teaching yoga and leading retreats, making and selling home-made natural mosquito repellent and aromatherapy lotion bars, working with the American Chamber of Commerce, among other things that come up. Originally from Colorado, I grew up spending lots of time in the mountains and I love the outdoors and all the adventure it offers. I have traveled all over the world (in my youth CouchSurfing made travel a dream), and am happy to call Uganda home for the foreseeable future.
