Wow! Is the typical reaction as guests enter this charming, secluded, dog-friendly, cottage! Situated on a footpath and bridleway with immediate access to farmland walks, horse-riding and cycling routes and just 5mins drive from the open New Forest, beach walks, or exploring the coastal town of Lymington, Wren Cottage is the ideal location to unwind with friends, family and other animals (your horses/dogs welcome!)
Crafted in oak, this timber frame and clad cottage has an open plan living and kitchen area is light, with a ladder to the mezzanine area and double bed. The small bedroom is flexible for two twin or a double bed as suits your needs and there's a pull out sofabed in the living area.
The bathroom has a bath (great for a long soak after a walk in the wilds) or a power shower for a quick change before heading to one of the many highly recommended pubs and restaurants in the area - even within walking distance!
Parking and main garden fenced to keep small dogs from exploring too far without you.
The kitchen will be stocked with the bare essentials - tea, coffee, milk for your arrival.
Note the ladder to the mezzanine isn't suitable for toddlers to climb and not easy to carry a baby up/down! We also haven't fitted a child gate to the ladder or child locks to the kitchen cupboards so Wren Cottage possibly isn't the most suited to youngsters.
You can bring your own horse at £20phpn! Stabling, fields and lorry/trailer parking available and we providing riding routes and maps to explore the New Forest.
Equestrian training with BHS Accredited Professional. £40 individual lesson or £20 shared in 25x50m sand school.
If you would like to arrange an appointment for a Swedish and Sports massage we can refer you to our recommended home-visiting therapists.
Our home - and the stables - is next door so you are welcome to pop by if you have any queries.
The garden fence is about 18" high at its lowest- so as not to be too obtrusive but designed to keep a terrier in. Larger or adventurous dogs may need supervision! Please bring your own dog bed/s, feed and water bowls and feed - it'll keep them more comfortable to smell of your home!
- Minimum booking of 3 nights
- Check out is before 11AM
- No burning of candles (except birthday cake candles)
- Please clear up any dog mess on the lawn
- Rubbish day is Thursday so do fill up the outside dustbin by 10am for collection if it falls during your stay.
- Our delectable gardener, Sean, mows the garden on a Sunday. Typically after 11am. If this isn't convenient do let us know and we will try and schedule for a time when you are out. But, no, you can't take Sean home with you!
We are a welcoming family and hope to provide you with all you need for a peaceful - or full - stay at Wren Cottage. We're just a stone's throw away if you need us at all - as we've always found local recommendations work for us but we'd love your feedback from your adventures and explorations in the area too!
