Casa da Fonte Fria is surrounded by ancient olive trees, on the margin of the River Zezere, near Albufeira from Castelo de Bode, on a quiet and isolated area 1Km away from the historic Villa de Serra de Tomar.
What a place! Tucked away in the bush is a very nice house with a good sized pool and outdoor BBQ. Far enough from the village to be very quiet yet a short 5 minute drive to the shop and café for a beer and pastel de nata. The house has everything you need and is clean and well maintained. You need a car to stay at this house which will then allow you to do your shopping and visiting the lake for a swim in the 24 degree water. It was a fantastic location for us and no WiFi or strong cell coverage allowed us to switch off for week, but if you can't survive sans internet, the village café has it just in case. Pedro met us at the village to take us to the house and was very professional. I would highly recommend this location for a couples or family getaway.
We really loved the tranquility and peace of Pedero and Sarah's lovely rustic home. Pedro was a great host and, although based in Lisbon, met us at the start and responded very quickly to a couple of questions we had during our stay. A trip to the lake really has to be done, as well as a visit to the World Heritage Site of the Convento de Christo in Tomar, both are very close (about 10 and 20 minutes from the house). This is great place for a relaxing break, but I would very much recommend meeting Pedro in Serra before trying to find the house, it will be very difficult otherwise!
