35 km to Cache Creek, 4 hrs to Vancouver.
Great spot for those planning to visit Loon Lake, or friends in the community. Great for boaters. Loon Lake is 9 miles long, and has a public boat launch near the end of lake. Pontoon boat rentals available from the local resorts. Popular with fishermen, it is a naturally stocked lake with Rainbow Trout up to 3 lb. Also a very popular area for hunting, snowmobiling, atving, kayaking and outdoor enthusiasts. We are surrounded by thousands of acres of crown land - just a few minute drive to access. There is no shortage of outdoors to explore, and hundreds of lakes near by.
Our ranch is family run and fully operating, with baby lambs in the spring, haying in the summer, as well as many chickens, dogs, horses, cows through out the year. We sell organic eggs, chicken, lamb & beef through out the year, which are available for purchase to any visitors.
The cabin is set on the farm, and although very private, the farm does function around this cabin. You may hear the odd tractor drive by on its way to the fields, or the sheep & horses calling to be fed. (don't worry, we wont make this noise as the sun comes up, and there is no rooster to wake you at 5am!)
The cabin has been fully restored from its original shape from 1940. It is 250 square feet. It has a fully equipped kitchen, complete with coffee maker, stove/oven, sink, mini fridge, cookware and dishes. It has a beautiful hand made log queen sized bed, and the option of a double size mattress for the floor that pulls out from under the main bed. It makes for cozy sleeping but the mattress can be pushed back out of the way for the day time. All linens are included. Has a fireplace/woodstove to heat the cabin, and firewood is included. The bathroom is complete with only a toilet. There is running water, but you must heat your own hot water. (except for winter months, where running water is found out in the tap out front of the cabin).
Pets are considered. A message prior to booking is appreciated. Because its a working farm with many animals and livestock, we require all pets on leash when outside - for their own safety, and the safety of our livestock.
For your safety, guests are not allowed in pens with the animals, and are expected to respect all pets and farm animals. Please keep in mind that we have working dogs on our farm that are loose in the yard. If you have concerns with this please message us prior to booking.
This cabin is perfect for guests looking to spend much of their time outdoors, but want a cozy and comfortable place to come home to.
The farming life is a busy one, and although we would love to give guests the full "ranch experience", feeding and caring for all the animals and land leaves little time for guest involvement in the chores. There are many animals near by the cabin, and guests are free to enjoy the animals from the outside of the pens.
We would be happy to give you ideas and direct you to the many places and things this area has to offer!
