Wow. What a wonderful hidden gem in the heart of Noordhoek. My bridesmaids and I stayed over at the cottage the night before our wedding day and we loved every moment of our stay. We had a cozy night around the fire and a great nights rest. The scenery as well as the vintage styled cottage made it the perfect spot for the most beautiful photos. The cottage is equipped with everything you need and Michelle is so hospitable. This is a perfect escape for a peaceful, relaxing, enjoyable, "away from everything but close enough to get somewhere quickly" kind of holiday.
The cottage is very beautiful but it has no ceiling so it is extremely cold in winter. The rooster starts crowing first thing in the morning. So no warm lazy lie ins. So be prepared.
To address these issues we have moved the chicken coop to the main farmhouse area away from Guinea Fowl Cottage and being a farm styled getaway the crowing is part of the farm feeling which we wish to maintain. There is also now a ceiling with insulation in the bedroom area of the loft, wall heaters upstairs and also the electric blankets on all the beds for the duration of the winter months in Cape Town.
