3/2 Waterfront Home

You come to Marco Island for the water and you get plenty of it with this house – water to swim in, boat in, dangle your feet in and a peaceful open water backdrop while you’re having breakfast on the lanai.

This 1,500 square foot house sleeps eight, with one king bed, one queen, two twins, a sleeper sofa, two bathrooms and a two-car garage. Actually, it sleeps ten if you count the dog and cat. That’s right, this is one of the few rentals that welcomes your furry friends.

The stone lanai wraps around the house, creating a spacious outdoor living area. A table and chairs, beneath a ceiling fan, overlooks sparkling green water lined with boats and palm trees. The dock beneath the grass embankment belongs to you. Tie up your boat or bring down beach chairs and watch for passing dolphins and manatee.

The heated pool is surrounded by clusters of palms on one side and a spacious grass yard on the other, giving you total privacy. With the gas grill, poolside barbeques will become everyone’s favorite meal of the day.

The interior contains the ideal blend of style and comfort. Natural light through ample windows fills the space. A mirrored wall in the dining room gives you a constant view of the waters outside. The bright, airy kitchen comes equipped with all the modern appliances you need to prepare everything from a family dinner to coffee, tea or cocktails to enjoy on the lanai.

The bedrooms all have TVs, and the master suite features sliding door access to the lanai.

You’ve got all the comfort-enhancing amenities you could want, like air conditioning, cable, a big screen TV and a washer and dryer. You also have bikes and everything you need for the beach, including umbrellas, beach chairs and a cooler.

People drive for miles to visit Tigertail Beach, but you’re just a short walk away. This 79-acre natural gem is filled with white, sandy beaches, warm emerald waters and mangroves. Go exploring on kayaks, water trikes or paddleboats. You can also sign up for an Eco tour that takes you to the habitat of the manatees and nesting sea turtles.

After a full day of fun, celebrate with a beachside meal at the Tigertail Beach Café. Or take a short walk from your house to some of Marco Island’s favorite restaurants, like Joey’s Pizza, Doreen’s, Nene’s or Fin Bistro.

So come enjoy the scenic water view and the short walk to a world-class beach.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at 438 Kendall Dr. The location was very convenient, and the few minor maintenance issues were addressed promptly. The house was super clean, and the dog run made it a perfect location to stay with our two dogs. The bedroom and bathroom layout worked very well for our family of five, and each of the bedrooms was a good size. The kitchen was just large enough to enjoy some freshly caught fish, but not so big that it was hard to keep tidy. Although it is walking distance to Tiger Tail Beach, we decided it should really be named Tiger Tail Lagoon and Seashore. It is a beautiful area if you are adventurous, but not what most people expect from a beach. You need to leave beach carts and paraphernalia behind, and prepare to explore. To access the beach, you must hike around or cross the lagoon by either wading across or by renting a kayak. After some research, we opted to rent kayaks and had a fabulous time. Anthony, the owner of the kayak rental stand, could not have been nicer, and we spent two great days out on Tiger Tail exploring, gathering shells, and watching wildlife. For the more classic beach experience, you need to drive about 15 minutes to the southern end of the island. The $8 parking fee is non-refundable but your receipt for the day is honored at either of the beaches. All in all, it was a very relaxing and enjoyable trip.
