We had the most wonderful stay at John's cozy cottage! Arriving in a steady rain, we so appreciated walking in to a warm, quaint, clean home that had plenty of room for our family of four. The refrigerator and pantry had been thoughtfully stocked with enough for us to make a quick meal of scrambled eggs and cereal, which was fabulous since we were jet-lagged, and not interested in going out the first night. John's lovely cottage is the perfect base to explore the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren and more. We highly recommend and will certainly stay again, should our travels ever allow us to return to the area.
Right in the town of Kilfenora, a lovely small Irish town with lots of small detailed charm, John's cozy home sits in walking distance from it all. We enjoyed the full kitchen and bath as well as the washer & dryer was a huge plus to continue on with our journey. John also had lots of great books on Ireland and brochures that may peak your interest and give you ideas on what you may want to explore next. Thanks John!
This is a comfortable, clean, and well-equipped space with excellent access (15-30 mins.) to the Burren, Lahinch, and the Cliffs of Mohair. John and his wife were very gracious hosts and a wealth of information on the region. Glad we had a chance to stay a night here and would happily return with more time in the future.
Though Kilfenora seems in the center of nowhere, that is much the point. You are a short cycle or drive from lots of great things to do and you just won't find better hosts than these two. We booked this place on the fly when United Airlines cancelled our flight and blew up our plans to fly into another location. But what a lucky find.
This is a very lovely and private apartment that is very quiet and peaceful, while being close to town and the main road. There is an off road parking spot available right next to the house. The area is fantastic, with the Cliffs of Moher a short 15 minutes drive, and the Burren area all around. One of the local pubs had some nice music and dancing happening, and there is a beautiful old church building all within an easy walk from the cottage. The place itself was clean, with comfortable beds and some nice things available for breakfast. This was our best stay during our trip to Ireland, and it is well recommended.
Living all our life here in this area , We have traveled all over the World U.S.A China, Russia, and all over Europe Australia next year. We feel we can give lots of local west of Ireland knowledge to our visitors. We have many friends who keep coming back to Kilfenora as we ran a …
