My place is close to Edinburgh Castle, National Museum of Scotland, usher hall, Princes Street, Travers theater, lycem theatre, train station.. You’ll love my place because of the neighbourhood - We are in the very center of Edinburgh, everywhere is accessible by foot or the main bus stops outside will take you anywhere in the city. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
The attraction of our home is the Location, location, location!! We are so central you can see the castle and really cut down on travel costs throughout your stay by having everything on the door-step.
I don't offer breakfast, however there are several cafes as well as a weatherspoons for breakfast within 100 yrds of the front door.
Your room is not the most well presented room, we have been renovating our house room by room and the spare room has not been done yet. Having said that we have done our best to make it cosy and welcoming. It has 2 single beds, armchair and a fridge for your convenience.
If you wish for the 2 single beds to be put together as a double, please request this in advance.
We have rented the room on and off for the last 2 years and people have been happy with it as a base.
We are an old Edinburgh flat and are situated on the second floor. This requires walking up 48 steps from street to door, please bare this in mind when booking. Thanks
The buzzer on the main outside door for our flat says MacDonald/Quinn, you will need to buzz this for initial entrance, I will provide you with your own keys after check-in.
Any help about where to go and how, we are more than happy to offer, at the same time, if you just want to explore and not be bothered that's fine also.
Im Jackie, my partner is David and we have a 14 year old named Elizabeth and our family dog Scout (Small dog) who is very friendly. We don't advise anyone staying who doesn't like dogs as she is the boss of the house and wants to talk to everyone. I work part-time and David works mostly from his home office so generally there is always one of us in the house.
We are up 48 steps - second floor flat and there is no elevator, so i wouldn't advise for anyone who struggles with stairs.
Also as we live in the very heart of the city parking is a nightmare! There is a NCP car park at the end of our road, however please be advised it is very expensive. Our place is best for people who don't have a vehicle with them.
- We just ask that you are respectful of our teenage daughter who has to get up for school at 7, therefore we ask you don't come in late making noise.
- Please PLEASE do not book for 1 guest and show up with 2....I charge 7 pound for an extra person to cover my cost of washing extra sheets and someone else having a shower etc. Please be aware if you show up with more people than you have booked i will have to refuse entry - I really regret having to put this in here but it has happened so often now and makes for a very uncomfortable situation for myself as well as you the guest.
- The check in time is 2PM to 11pm. Also let me know about early arrivals BEFORE booking. The earliest time to drop your bags is 9am. Please contact me in advance for details. As i work i need an estimated arrival time so someone can be around to let you in.
- The check out time is no later than 10am, please make sure you vacate and return keys for cleaning by 10am, you can leave your luggage if you wish to enjoy the city on your last day.
