***Please note, as of November 2017 the City of La Grande and Union County are collecting room taxes (9% total) that will be you will be requested to pay separately after your booking is complete.*** The bungalow was built in 1925 and miraculously the few previous owners retained all the original woodwork and features that give it character. The basement was remodeled into a living space in the early 2000s. I purchased the home in Fall 2016 and in doing so have welcomed the opportunity to continue to maintain and enhance this treasure of a historic house. To that end please pardon some of the "patina"...the home is a work in progress, the outdoor projects have been delayed due to winter snow!
The basement apartment has its own private entrance and a sliding door separates the guest area from the main floor to provide us both privacy. The entire basement including laundry is available to guests.
Sadie, my small cocker spaniel mix companion, will likely announce your arrival if I am home, but quickly will expect a treat or play from you!
Please note, the nightly rate applies to the use of the double room. The twin room is an extra $20. If you are a party of 2, but will be using both rooms, please let me know and book as a 3-guest party so the $20 fee will be applied at the time of your booking through the website.
- Street parking is available. The private basement entrance is accessed through the back garden. Please use caution on the steep 1925-era stairs. Your privacy is ensured by a sliding door at the top of the stairs.
- Sadie, a sweet cocker-spaniel mix may announce your arrival.

As I'm very enthusiastic about La Grande and the Blue Mountains in general, I'd love to share my recommendations for meals, shops, local trails, etc.
I moved to La Grande to enjoy the spectacular landscape in Northeast Oregon and the warm community in the Grande Ronde Valley. I look forward to sharing this special locale with guests.
