I will try to keep my review as object as possible in hopes to help the host improve his apartment as well as make others aware of potential issues.
My boyfriend and I booked a one-night stay at Matt's place because of the convenient location. I had stayed in this apartment complex before via AirBnB and loved how centrally located it was.
Unfortunately, we did not have a pleasant stay. It appears that we were the very first people to book Matt's place and he was definitely not prepared to receive guests. His apartment was unclean, specially the bathroom. There was an excessive amount of hair in the shower walls, tub's floor and in both sinks. One of the sinks had a layer of hardened toothpaste covering the faucets. Small pieces of garbage were on the sink's counter such as toothpaste seal, razor blade cover, etc. Balls of pet fur had accumulated in the corner of the bathroom. The toilet had stains (not water stains).
Shoes were in left in the middle of the floor, in high traffic areas. The floors had a layer of dirt that would stained our your feet and socks in just a few steps.
No garbage bins or bags in sight other than a garbage bin in the bathroom (no bag).
Personal items such as laptop and notepad were left in the kitchen table (only table available) and we chose not to use it because we did not want to move those items.
No TV remotes or wi-fi information. After spending some time looking for the router to bypass the password encryption, we couldn't find any.
I absolutely adore pups, but nowhere in the listing, it was mentioned that pets lived in the house. Fur could be found pretty much every where. Two bowls were left in the middle of the kitchen floor.
Now you might be thinking, why didn't you call/text the host? We did text him to find out where to park (no instructions were given for the dedicated parking spot) and also to ask about towels. Although he was very responsive, it became clear that he would not be able to solve all of the issues listed above, so we chose to just stay for the night and leave as soon as we could.
We hope that Matt will take this feedback as an improvement opportunity and perhaps better prepare before his next guest arrives.
