Relax in a comfortable bedroom with a small, but private bathroom. The location is perfect for solo adventures, couples, and business travelers, being within walking distance of Universal Studios (save yourself the $20 parking fee), a metro station, park, & eateries/conveniences. Hollywood (Walk of Fame / Chinese Theater) and the Hollywood Bowl are just a metro stop away, with downtown LA further down the same line. Small, friendly dogs may seek your attention during your stay.
Within a cozy cottage-style house, the room has a daybed (that pulls out into a double-size bed - wider than a queen), desk, and closet (with hangers). I can also set up an additional single-size air mattress to accommodate two guests sleeping separately.
The room has a desk and chair, a bluetooth speaker, a 32" TV connected to an Amazon Fire TV stick (with TV shows and movies), and blu-ray / DVD player. There are plenty of outlets and chargers for traveling devices / laptops, and access to high-speed wireless Internet. A few books are also available to browse, including guides about the Los Angeles area. The room offers plenty of light, and the temperature is regulated at reasonable levels by the smart-thermostat for the house. A plug-in fan is available if you prefer a breeze.
Guests will have access to an enclosed patio room right behind their room, which has a mini-fridge stocked with filtered (tap) water and ice, a coffee machine for coffee or tea, and table & chairs for relaxing / eating / playing cards and board games. This patio space is set up for guests, but the host may need to pass through it at times. (Also, Starbucks, Peet's Coffee, and local restaurants are within a short walk, should guests prefer other beverages.)
Basic bathroom amenities are included: soap, shampoo / conditioner, & towels. An iron, ironing board, fan, and hairdryer are also available. A full mirror and small vanity mirror are also in the room.
Street parking is available during weekends and weeknights. A single spot is available in my driveway during the weekday.
Note: There is a security camera monitoring the exterior of the house, for general safety. Guests will be informed about its location upon arrival. There is no need to worry about recording in the interior of the house.
Lastly, my next door neighbor Vincent has a couple excellent AirBnB listings as well, in case a small group is traveling together and would like book a few spaces close to each other.
Guests will pass through the main living area and hallway to access their room, but be expected to restrict their activities to their room and enclosed patio room. If you need something or just want to heat up food in the microwave, don't hesitate to ask.
My furry companions and I will greet you upon check-in and make sure you can get settled in, answering questions or offering recommendations. Guests will be left to their privacy beyond that, as I often need to work (including from home). However, you can always reach me by phone / text message during your stay if you need any assistance.
Guests should be comfortable in the presence of (small) dogs, though they are certainly not obligated to play with them. Of course, I do need to ensure through the house rules that guests do not place the pets in any danger (including accidentally letting them out of the front door).
- Please respect my belongings and keep activity to the guest spaces (your room and the enclosed patio room just behind it).
- Please treat the dogs kindly and respect my rules for them, or let me know if you would like to not be bothered by them.
- Clean up after yourself.
- Keep the noise to a reasonable level, especially after 10pm for the neighbors.
- No parties or additional guests beyond what you booked.
- No smoking or illegal activity (of course)
- A $15 late fee may be charged for failing to leave by the check out time (12pm) only because it can create hassles & delays for incoming guests or the host
I'm a working professional who is fortunate enough to have a spare room, in a great location. I enjoy being able to host guests... and even travel a bit myself when I have the chance. I have a wide range of interests, so I'm sure we'll have something in common.
