Private room in a 2BR duplex, this is a great place to stay if you're exploring the neighborhoods or just need a quiet room.
Great location! A 5 minute walk from Wicker Park at Division St and Milwaukee Ave, as well as bustling Chicago Ave and West Town, and Eckhart Park.
Getting downtown or to other neighborhoods is easy: the Ashland bus is around the corner and the Blue Line 5 minutes away on foot.
Kitchen and living room are available!
There is a private entrance to the room.
Converted to a duplex condo about 15 years ago, there are two bedrooms and one bathroom on the upper level. The duplex is on the top (third) floor of a multi-unit building (walk-up; no elevator). On the lower level is a lovely kitchen, large living and outdoor space. In nice weather, this is an optimal place to have some drinks, grill food, catch some sun and breeze, or just relax.
Regardless of what you are looking for in the city, getting there should not be a problem. Besides access to public transportation, the duplex is close to several Divvy stations and close to the famous "Hipster Highway", Milwaukee Ave, on which you can get directly to downtown or away from downtown towards Wicker Park and Logan Square.
Guests are welcome throughout the apartment. Everything is accessible with the exception of the other bedroom.
Outside is a small deck, grill, and (in the summer) a table and chairs for entertaining. Inside, on the first level is a TV and entertainment center. Netflix, Amazon Prime, and OTA broadcast channels are available. Also on the first level is a large stove. If you want to cook, I'm always willing to help or learn!
The private room itself is on the upper level of the duplex. It can be accessed in two ways: through the main entrances of the apartment and up the stairs, or separately through the common area. Both doors have locks.
Generally, I work during traditional business hours, but often work from home. I have lived in the city for several years and am generally well-versed in what it has to offer. I am happy to give recommendations to suit your interests, head out with you to try something new, or stay out of your way.
I'm a mid-20's software engineer focusing on building things to optimize my day to day and hopefully to make an impact on the world.
I enjoy nothing more than a warm day and a long bike ride, but if I can't do that you'll often find me with a pair of headphones and good music.
I'm slowly working on learning Spanish. Someday I hope to spend a year or so living in South America.
I'm easy going and fast to reply.
