Cedar Shores is close to all the art and culture of downtown Ithaca and Cayuga Lake's wine country. The cottage, with its unique Norwegian aesthetic touches, has fabulous views of the lake, and a cozy living space well-suited for small groups, couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, and families with kids. The beach is large with plenty of room for lounging and bonfires, and the sauna is an added bonus! Restaurants and grocery stores are close by in both Trumansburg and Ithaca.
Many lake houses along Cayuga Lake require that you hike in or walk very long, steep staircases -- we chose Cedar Shores for many reasons, but the easy drive-up access was a feature we sought out, and it's so convenient.
The deck outside is large and leaves plenty of room for lounging and grilling, and the main living space downstairs is also very comfortable to hang out in if you have a group. We have some games for nights you feel like staying in. The kitchen is also spacious and fun to cook in.
There is only one bathroom, but
Catch the best views from the master bedroom with windows along the whole front wall facing the water. The four bunks in the kids' room are big enough for adults if you have a larger group, and the second bedroom with the full bed is also very comfortable.
You are welcome to use the entire house, the deck, the beach, the dock, and the sauna. We have a shed locked with our water crafts, tools, etc. inside, but you are welcome to bring your own water crafts or rent them. (There are a few places close by that rent canoes, kayaks, etc.(
We'll make ourselves available during your stay, should you have any questions about the house. Giving a phone call is the quickest way to reach us!
My wife and I are retired teachers from the Chenango Forks / Binghamton area. We love traveling, especially to the Virgin Islands, kayaking, gardening, and cooking. We love spending time on the lake bought this house to enjoy in the summertime with our grown children and grandchildren.
