Our lovely house is situated right in the heart of Glasgow's West End and is perfect for families looking for a spacious, cosy base from which to explore Glasgow and Scotland as a whole.
The house is a bungalow (all on one level) and has a gorgeous south-facing garden at the back.
Ideally situated for enjoying Glasgow's attractive West End and just 5 minutes walk from a train station, which allows you to be in the city centre in 10 minutes and Edinburgh in just over an hour.
This is our own home when we are in Scotland so it is well looked after and has everything a family might need for a comfortable stay.
The house is all on one level (bungalow) and has two large 'living' rooms. The first is a comfortable lounge with a TV and fireplace (for chillier Scottish evenings!) and the second is a dining room/family room/playroom, where there is a dining table and chairs, a selection of children's books and toys, and a sofa bed. High chair and cot available on request.
The house has two bedrooms. The first bedroom has a king size bed and the second has low-rise children's bunk beds. Both bedrooms are spacious with views of the lovely back garden and the children's bedroom has a bookcase with books and games.
The kitchen also overlooks the garden and has everything you need to prepare meals at home including a cooker, microwave, dishwasher and NutriBullet. There is also a washer/drier and space to hang laundry in the garden.
The bathroom has a large walk-in shower instead of a bath and we also have a baby bath which fits into the shower for families with infants.
The lovely mature garden is exclusive to our house and includes a lawn area and a decking area for sitting outdoors. We have a selection of children's toys for the garden.
The house is in the perfect location for exploring Glasgow - you will be staying in the West End, one of the best areas for culture, parks and eating out in the city, but with excellent public transport links into the city centre and beyond. There is free on-street parking directly outside the house and the street itself is quiet.
You will have the whole house to yourself (excluding the attic), plus the front and back gardens.
We leave a welcome pack in the property, which includes detailed information about things to see and do in Glasgow and the surrounding areas. Also includes travel information and delivery services for local restaurants and take-aways. We have lots of family nearby, happy to meet you on arrival if requested and happy to help with any questions or issues.
If you would like your children to learn or improve their English during your stay, there is a Language Centre close by, which runs a free English learning and reading programme for children between the ages of 6 months and 14 years. There are various story sessions, singing sessions, learning sessions and conversation sessions for older children - all free of charge. There are also several public libraries nearby and I can provide information of family-friendly activities locally which will allow you to mix with Scottish families and practise your English. For adults, there are a number of language schools in Glasgow.
