You’ll love my place because of the location, the people, the ambiance, and the outdoors space.
Relax in this secluded setting, close to the beaches amongst magnificent Taraire trees. Built with a couple in mind, this spacious architect designed house has been fitted out with a contemporary meets retro interior. A split level living space reaches out to the landscaped garden with two large decks that catch the sun at different times of the day.
There's a mezzanine library that looks out over the living space where you can lie back and read.
Further upstairs the treetop bedroom looks out across the valley down to Te Huruhi Bay. Lie back and watch the native birds fly through the canopy. There's a luxurious king size bed with all linen supplied. The adjacent bathroom has a luxurious shower and view out to the bush.
This sunny north facing retreat is only a 5 minute walk to Little Oneroa Beach, and 15 minutes walk to the Oneroa shops, restaurants and cafes. There's plenty of walking tracks close by including one that leads from Lodge down through a bush walk to Blackpool Beach.
Travel from the downtown Auckland Ferry Terminal to Waiheke on the Fullers or Sealink passenger ferries takes 35 minutes and once you’re at Matiatia ferry terminal it’s a 5 minute taxi ride to Taraire Lodge.
Alternatively Sealink offers a car ferry service that takes 45 - 60 minutes departing from Half Moon Bay in East Auckland plus some weekend runs from Wynyard Wharf in Auckland city.
Guests can access the whole house.
We're happy to answer any queries anytime before and during our guests stay.

I live and work in Auckland in the film and animation industry.
My partner and I acquired this piece of paradise on Waiheke 21 years ago, and after nuturing the native forest back from the weeds for over a decade, we built this beautiful house to work in to that landscape. I hope you get a chance to experience the house, the land, the local cuisine and the wonderful island of Waiheke.
