The Hatzimichalis house is a restored neoclassical masterpiece of unique architecture, built before 1810, and named after the family. The family Hatzimichalis, with British ancestors from Kerkyra - practitioners and benefactors of the Agia region, were silk merchants as well as scholars with Theodore and Alcibiades Hatzimichalis their main representatives. The former was considered to be the greatest scholar of the Province.

In the living room of the lower floor there is a fireplace for the winter months with 2 sofas which can be used as beds, one indeed as comfortable bed. The kitchen is large and located on the lower floor where you can have coffee or tea free.

The house has central heating and a fireplace on the lower floor while the upper floor has individual heating in two bedrooms and the bathroom. The house has 3 full bathrooms - one on the top and two on the lower floor.

The house also has a large yard that is appropriate for breakfast/lunch/dinner and evening relaxation in spring, summer and autumn months.
In Hatzimichalis house there exists, since 1850, a candle making workshop that, since being renovated, has become a small museum for art candle manufacturing.

Kiki's and Dimitri's home is situated in a village showing lot of historic buildings. There are 2 Taverns in the viallage serving traditional food at reasonable prices. Dimitris and Kiki were always helpful giving hints for places to visit. We enjoyed our 8 days stay at their old historic home. We had the full 2nd floor for our own, we were the only guests at that time. Breakfast was served by the host with self made cake and marmelades! If you want to stay there, a car is a must. Next shops /supermarket is in Agia, 1.5 km away. 2 Taverns are close to the house, just a few minutes walk

Dimitris and Kiki were excellent hosts, we felt welcome immediately! The house is very big and beautiful, and we could make use of the second floor, which is really spacious. For us the village was a very good starting point to visit Meteora, and beautiful beaches nearby. We highly recommend this place!

We loved our holiday spent in Dimitris and Kiki's house. They are very friendly persons. They helped us to have our first experience in Greece unforgetable. Thank you

Place to discover with its "platia" and typical houses. Quite & big space to sleep. Don't forget to ask Dimitri to guide you into his candle mini factory.

We went to Dimitris and Kiki for a weekend for a rock festival in Agia. Our experience was memorable! Their hospitality was excellent and warm. We had great time with Dimitris and Kiki during breakfast as also at our lunches at the really beautiful and traditional square of Metaxochori. The breakfast was tasteful and especially Kiki's cake that was delicious. Dimitris came to give us a lift from the bus station and also at our return. Plus they gave us great directions for our activities. The house is really beautiful and traditional. We had the whole 1st floor and it was so quiet and comfortable. Additional to our great experience the last day Kiki gave us a tour to the traditional wax workshop. We highly recommend Dimitris and Kiki's house as we had a great time!

Dimitris, thank you for your comments! You and Bagelis are a realy nice guys!Good luck to your life and to your next journeys!

Dimitri and Kiki were the best decision! The stone house is so beautiful, so special. Together with the green inner courtyard, it could be an old bewitched property ... Dimitri and Kiki's brother was waiting at the bus station to give me a lift. The room was a whole apartment on the first floor, wooden floor, good big bed, a small balcony to the courtyard and above all: all windows with fly screens! Fresh cherries and cool water were ready, it was a warm welcome together with Kiki. Whenever it was possible they gave me a lift to Agia 2 km further down. Coffee and spanakopitakia or whatever I would have liked, always cared for with food, when I came late. I could ask for anything, I was really spoiled. It was very quiet in the house, as if I were alone. Very good place for relaxing! A few meters away to find 2 taverns, to the sea the taxi is 15,00 € if you missed the bus. Thank you all, miss you!

Τhank you very much Maria for your comments! You are welcome, whenever you want!

I thank Dimitris and Kiki for a memorable experience. I preferred to stay at Metaxochori village with my partner instead of the less-picturesque city of Larisa for my business trip. The warm and sincere hospitality of Dimitris and Kiki transformed our whole experience. Amongst other things, we enjoyed some awesome cakes and a free walking tour in the village by Kiki! The village is simply scenic and the mansion truly original -also big and comfortable enough for longer stay. This is a highly-recommended option for any type of travellers looking to spend time in the wider area of Larisa.
