Let this 5 bedroom Adirondack-style island retreat completed in 2008 be the setting for your relaxing vacation. The outdoor, covered, living room with huge stone fireplace provides the perfect backdrop for s’mores with the kids. Swim out to the inflatable swim raft and float in the sun, or if feeling ambitious, take out the paddleboards for a challenging trip up and down the island. Rattlesnake Island is a popular hiking destination with plenty of marked trails. Must own or rent your own boat.
Camp Running Water is a charming home newly constructed in 2008, and is perfect for two or three families on vacation together. Swimming is off the dock, with a swim trampoline as a fun destination for kids. The house is Adirondack style with rustic furniture throughout. In the main house, upstairs you will find the master bedroom, full bathroom with separate tub and shower, and the bunkroom with three bunk beds. On the main floor, the living room, kitchen with pass-through window to the outside living room, dining area which easily seats two large families, the powder room and laundry. The main living room is under a beautiful cathedral ceiling with exposed timberframe trusses, and has a huge floor to ceiling fireplace made from local stone. This chimney continues outside, to the outdoor living room under the same roofline, with a spectacular fireplace of its own. Next to the outdoor living room are the other two queen bedrooms, which share a full bath with the large kid-friendly bedroom with two twin beds and a full-sized sofabed.
Your family will love the memories made hiking the island and picking wild blueberries, having drinks and s’amores around the fireplace, and enjoying the water. The kitchen has a full-size refrigerator, double electric oven, gas cooktop, microwave, dishwasher and trash compactor. The laundry room has a full-size washer and dryer. Down at the water’s edge you can enjoy watching the kids swing while you lounge on the hammock. Southern exposure gives you sun all day long, with spectacular views to the Belknap Mountain range and unbelievable sunsets from the deck.
This is an unbridged island, so you need to have boat transportation. This can be either your own boat or we can recommend local rental marinas. On the island, you will have docking for two boats, and will have mainland parking passes for two cars at the association parking lot.
