This sunny spacious room is in a vintage 1918 home with sweeping Bay views & original hardwood floors. It's close to both the 580 & 880 freeways & about 45 minutes to downtown SF; 15 minutes to Oakland International & Oracle Arena; 5 minutes to the Oakland Zoo. You’ll love the view & the queen-sized Tempurpedic with flannel sheets & a down blanket, so cozy one guest described it as a trap. My place is good for cat-lovers, couples, solo adventurers, groups & budget travelers. A 420-friendly home.
This is an older home, so the floors often squeak & the vintage kitchen has character & charm, but no dishwasher. If you like cats, you'll love it here. My kitten Luna is an AirBnB ambassador. If you let her, my older kitty Dora will cuddle in your lap & sleep with you at night. I have done cat rescue in the past, so I take care of other cats who spend almost all of their time outdoors. When they come inside, it's to hang out with me in my room. It's up to you if you want to interact with them. Otherwise, my kitties are not allowed in your room.
You're welcome to use the kitchen, just please clean up after yourself. You're also responsible for replacing anything you break. I have to move this summer, because my landlord wants to move back in. Consequently, l've started packing so there will be some clutter & boxes in the back of the house, mostly the breakfast nook & laundry room. There is also washer/dryer on site. The front porch is a great place to sit and enjoy the view and have a smoke. The living room is also common space, except for late evenings and early mornings if there is a guest on the sofa. There is a dining table in the living room for guests to use with a fruit bowl for guests. You can also eat at the desk in your room if you prefer.
Since I'm getting ready to move, I don't have a lot of time to socialize, and I spend most of my time in my room or in the kitchen or basement packing. But I"m a friendly host and will always make time to chat, share a smoke, or a beer.
I have kitties, but you don't have to interact with them unless you want to. They're friendly, but spend most of their time outdoors. If you don't like kitties, you're still welcome to stay here. Just please don't take stars off your review if you don't like kitties - that's not really fair, you know?
- 420-friendly; cigarette smoking allowed on the porch or patio, not the house.
- If you break it, please fix or replace it.
- Quiet after 11pm, thanks :)
- You're welcome to use the kitchen, but please clean up after yourself.
- No overnight guests
- $25 replacement fee if key is not returned
- Turn off the lights & tv when you're sleeping or not using them.
- Please put all glass, cans & plastic in the blue recycling can in the kitchen.
I'm a grant-writer and nonprofit consultant who loves helping people achieve their dreams. I love live music shows, food (esp eating but cooking too), traveling and animals, especially cats, because they're independent. My kittens Ninja and Luna are my AirBnB ambassdors. I'm a laid-back, friendly host who is open to socializing, or not :)
