Les was a wonderful and accommodating host--very flexible about my late check-in and when plans changed last minute let me stay on an extra day. As noted, it's budget accommodation, but Les provides laundry and breakfast free of charge. Location was good--close to transport and the Octagon, but street a bit busy. Bed is super comfy! Kitchen was a bit untidy--tea towels and dish rag looked like they'd been there a while. I was in a room that faced the street and there was a lot of noise at night, as well as light from the street lamps coming in. I had a sleep mask and ear plugs so it wasn't bad, but just noting for others to consider if you're a light sleeper. What I didn't realise was that there seem to be longer term residents living on the floor--and they are all male. I had two phone numbers slid under my door my second day here despite having only seen a couple of guests in passing and keeping to myself. Les kindly looked into the situation and was understanding when I expressed uneasiness (particularly since one individual was not a resident). I felt like I was being watched going back to my room a few times. Stayed on an extra night anyway, as Les assured me he was down the hall if I needed anything. Would be good budget accommodation for men or couples I think but I can't recommend as much as solo female.
