This bright, beautiful bedroom is situated in a creative home in the middle of 'de Pijp', a very cute area with lots of authentic cafes, boutiques and little restaurants, a few minutes stroll from the Museum Square and Vondelpark. The apartment is set on two floors, has a balcony, rooftop terrace, a bath and everything you could wish for. Hide away in your relaxed and light home away from home, and enjoy the feeling of being in a pittoresque village in the center of the buzzling city!
The house is a heaven for travelers in search of a quiet, relaxed and spacy place to unwind and hide away from the hectic city life. Although it's situated right in the middle of Amsterdams cutest area 'de Pijp', a short stroll from the city center, a 10 minute tram ride from Central Station and you have everything at hand, it feels like you're in a small village.
The apartment is set up on two floors in a historical Amsterdam building. We have a private entrance on the second floor, leading up the stairs to the third floor where there's a spacious living room and kitchen, my atelier workspace, a balcony, a laundry room and a separate toilet. The bedroom is on the top floor where you'll find another toilet, and a bathroom with double sinks, a shower and a bath. It's the perfect spot to relax while you're soaking in all the beautiful experiences this city has to offer.
Your bedroom has doors to the rooftop terrace, with a beautiful view over this part of the city. No better way for waking up than taking a coffee up the deck and enjoying the sunrise and the silence of the city while it's awaking.
During your stay, the house will be shared with me; I work from home as a writer, but also travel a lot - so I might be in while you're staying, out of the country or amongst the Dutch waterlands in my little cabin down the country!
All areas as listed, apart from my workspace and bedroom
I'll be there to help out and answer your questions, or easy reachable when out of town. There's multiple friends and family living closeby in case anything urgent comes up and I'm away
The stairs to get to the apartment are pretty narrow and quite steep - it might not be very well suited to people who have trouble walking
Amsterdam is a very broad and laidback city, but we all live pretty close to each other, so please keep the following things in mind during your stay:
- no loud music after 10PM
- be considerate on the stairs, the staircases of old houses like ours can be a bit noisy
- same goes for the balcony, please keep your voices low to enable our neighbour's peace and sleep
- no smoking inside :) - you can of course use the balcony for smoking
- please lock the private front door when you leave the apartment, not just close it
- never lock the front door downstairs, that unables us from using the buzzer
- please turn down the heat when you leave to go home :)
