Cockle Well cottage lies in the village of Bempton on the stunning East Yorkshire Coast. Tastefully decorated, this cosy cottage offers the ideal base to explore the local area. Filey and Scarborough are nearby with the RSPB Reserve only a mile away. Up to two dogs are welcome this cottage.
Cockle well Cottage was one of the first cottages to be built in Bempton village and is at least 200 hundred years old. It's made mainly of chalk stones and old brick. The exterior is old but the interior is modern as it was completely gutted and renovated ten years ago.
Guests will have access to the whole house, garden and driveway ( latter has room for 2 cars).
I always meet guests at the cottage to run through a few things, how to use appliances, where the consumer unit is etc. Some people like to chat and others like to get on with unpacking so I leave when appropriate.
Dogs are very welcome and there are several 'dog friendly' pubs nearby. The cottage is always well cleaned so there are no doggie smells!
Bicycles can be hired in nearby Bridlington. It's great cycling along the promenade out of season. No cars, no pollution just peace.......
I love living by the sea and even though I have been here 10 years, I never get fed up of gazing at it. In the summer I go and swim or take my kayak out onto the sea. The other thing I really like to do is cycle on the promenades here in Bridlington and also up onto the cliff tops. I can still cycle 'no handed' on flat bits which I'm very proud of.
Another hobby is learning German, I'm quite good at speaking it but my grammar is lousy!
I earn a living by owning and managing property and during the summer, I travel to York quite a bit to supervises works in student houses. After work, I really like going out into York for a meal with a friend. We have a goal to try out lots of different places.
