The Cyclone Shelter is in the leafy, quiet suburb of Whitfield, just 10 minutes from the Cairns International Airport, and 15 minutes from the Cairns city centre. Surrounded by the lush greenery of the Whitfield Range, this property offers easy access to the beautiful Flecker Botanic Gardens, the Tanks Arts Centre, the Edge Hill village and walking tracks. The Cyclone Shelter is good for couples, solo adventurers and business travellers, and is best suited to those with their own transport.
This newly renovated self-contained studio apartment is your own living space. It is suitable for one or two people who wish to experience tropical living in relaxing and peaceful, green surroundings. Dine on your private patio or on the pool deck with views to the Mt Whitfield Conservation Park.
The studio kitchenette is equipped with a bar fridge, microwave, kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, electric frypan and toaster. There is a Weber gas barbecue on the patio. Laundry facilities are available.
The apartment has air conditioning, ceiling fans, free wi-fi, digital TV and Netflix.
One king size bed is available, which may be exchanged for two singles if required.
The studio has its own access separate from the rest of the house so you may come and go as you wish.
We (Elaine & Cam) live upstairs and have one very friendly groodle dog, Tova.
Off street parking is available. Guests have their own access and are welcome to relax in a number of different areas of the lush tropical gardens. The gazebo by the pool is a great place to unwind with a cool drink after a strenuous day snorkelling or sightseeing.
We respect your privacy but we are ready to offer any assistance should you need anything at all to enhance your visit. As we have many years’ experience in the local tourism industry we are happy to discuss your tour and adventure plans with you.
- The pool is available for use any time but please be considerate of our neighbours in this quiet residential area.
Hi, my husband Cam and I have lived in Cairns for the past 33 years. We love the tropical lifestyle and enjoy sharing it with our visitors. I work part time at James Cook University, and Cam runs his own business. We share our home with our lovable four year old groodle, Tova.
