Beautifully renovated 1911 family home with a big sunny garden within walking distance from Haarlem’s historical city centre. A quick 15 minute train ride takes you to Amsterdam Central Station, or a 20 minute bike ride through the dunes takes you to the beautiful Bloemendaal and Zandvoort beaches.
Comfortable and spacious family home, ideally located between the historical centre city and gorgeous nature and beaches. There is an excellent supermarket 2 minutes walk. The house is also very close to Haarlem's open air public swimming pool.
There is a gate at the end of the big sunny garden providing easy access and secure storage for bikes. There is also a small playground in the next street. A large gas BBQ is available as well as an outdoor kitchen space, and comfortable outdoor seating for sunny afternoons.
The fully equipped open kitchen flows through to the dining room and living room. There is a small toilet on the first floor.
The master bedroom has it's own private terrace overlooking the garden. There is also a twin bedroom with bunk beds, and one smaller single bedroom. The modern bathroom has a toilet, washbasin and shower.
A large guest bedroom with private wash basin is on the second floor. Air mattresses are also available. there is a large laundry with washing machine and dryer.
The picturesque historical city centre is an easy 5 minute bike ride. It is known as one of the best shopping cities of the Netherlands, and home to one of the best weekly Saturday markets. We have wonderful cafes, restaurants and bars as well as the first and oldest museum in the Netherlands - The Teylers museum, and the fascinating Frans Hals museum among many other cultural gems. A 20 minute train ride takes you directly to Amsterdam Central Station.
Possibly the best thing about our location is that the nature on your doorstep. An easy bike ride through the dunes takes you to wonderful beaches and beach bars of Zandvoort and Bloemendaal aan Zee. There are many biking and walking routes nearby. During April - May the flower fields are in bloom. The nearby Keukenhof flower museum is a open from the late March to mid May.
The whole house will be yours for the duration of your stay - asides from a locked cupboard where we will keep our personal belongings. We have a lot of games and toys available for children.
We have WI-FI, Netflix and loads of DVD's as well as English and Dutch books.
Bikes with child seats are also available upon request. If you are using these please ensure they are securely locked.
We will be away so you can treat the home as your own. We will remain contactable by phone or email, and will leave emergency contact information.
Our home is also residence for a cat (who will be away at a cat hotel), so keep this in mind if you suffer from cat allergies.
Free street parking possibilities within 10 minutes walk. A temporary visitor parking card is also available.
The house is 3 stories, with quite steep staircases. If you have very young children who are not used to stairs, please let us know so that stair guards can be made available.
