Villa Lanzara is located in Nocera Superiore in the Agro Nocerino region, a region in province of Salerno bounded to the South by the Monti Lattari, to the east and North East by the Monty Picentini and to the west by the plain of Vesuvious. Moreover, it is 30 km south from Naples. The region is mostly based on agriculture, most specifically, the predominant product is the pomodoro San Marzano. It has DOP status.
The refined Villa was built between end of 1700 and beginning of 1800. Historians state that the garden was built by the three descendants of Andrew Graefer, the most influential gardener of the Kew Gardens of London of the time. He was asked to come to Naples in 1782 upon Queen Marie Caroline’s desire to take care of the magnificent landscape of the Reggia di Caserta.
The Villa Lanzara garden is a firm example of synthesis between an aesthetic research and wildness, the “controlled disorder” that was very dear to the English. Today the Villa Lanzara garden still preserves the most beautiful plant species. It captivates all senses with its hidden wings that unfold slowly as you walk suggesting a profound wow factor, more than 25 species of cammelias, flowerbeds, hidden paths, beautiful lawns and exotic species. An experience all to live.
Today Villa Lanzara is available for a charming holiday enriched, upon request, by cultural and food tailor-made itineraries.
Well travelled, lived more than 10 years abroad and arrived in Milan few years ago. As I lived in different places I know very well what it means to arrive to a new city and that is the reason why I take care of my guests as best as possible.
