Beautiful pet-friendly one-bedroom flat, plenty of Victorian charm, with hardwood floors, living room, dining room and updated kitchen and bath, and additional queen sofa bed in the living room.
Cable television, wi-fi and local telephone service are provided. All utilities (water, gas, electric, garbage service) are included.
Centrally located between Cole Valley and Haight Ashbury, easy to access the entire city with plenty of nearby public transportation, walking distance to Golden Gate Park, restaurants and shopping. While parking on Downey Street is restricted during weekdays, there is ample unrestricted street parking two blocks from Downey Street.
San Francisco's Victorian buildings can be chilly. There is a beautiful gas heater in the bedroom and living that keeps these rooms very toasty. Electric wall heaters provide single room heating in the dining room and kitchen. Flannel sheets and comforters will keep you nice and warm at night.
Downey Street is pet-friendly, both dogs and cats are welcome. There are other pets on the property, so guests are asked to keep their pets on leash in the common areas. Only well behaved dogs should be left alone in the flat. An extra-large crate is available upon request. There are three pet-friendly parks with-in three blocks of Downey Street. While the area is very pet-friendly and many people walk their dogs under voice-control, San Francisco does enforce leash laws.
Please Note: Downey Street is a non-smoking building, so no smoking is allowed on the property.
We are also located in a residential neighborhood, so guests are asked to respect quiet hours between 10 pm and 8 am.
The flat is located on the second floor of our beautiful Victorian building. You will access the flat by a set of steps on the outside of the building. Unfortunately, this flat is not handicapped accessible.
Children up to age 16 stay free of charge.
There is a lovely garden in the back of our building. Guests are welcome to come sit in the garden.
I try to provide easy access for guests. You are welcome to call or text anytime for help or advice. I'll check in when you arrive and if you need anything feel free to call or text.
This flat is in a residential building. Quiet Hours: 10pm - 8 am
Downey Street is a non-smoking building. We ask all guests to refrain from smoking in or around our building.
No size restrictions on pet, but pet must be supervised at all times, be on leashes in public areas and owners must clean-up after pets. Nervous pets should not be left unsupervised unless crate-trained. Since there are a few other dogs that live in the building we ask that guests do not take their dogs into the backyard. Our neighborhood is very pet friendly and there are numerous parks within a few blocks of the building.
Check-in is generally after 5pm and check-out at 10am.
We asks guests to leave the flat in the condition that they find it in - please wash any dishes that you use, remove any un-used food from the fridge and empty the trash, recycling and compost. We'll take care of the sheets, towels and other general clean up.
While we do not have a washer/dryer in the flat, there is a wonderful laundry and dry cleaning service just a block away from Downey Street - Russ Cleaner & Laundry Service. Drop your clothes off before you head out for a day in SF and then pick them up the next - easy and very reasonably priced.
Patti manages Downey Street and lives in the flat directly below the rental unit. The building has a few dogs - a friendly Chocolate Lab (the building greeter), a German Shepherd (who likes to protect all the canine ladies in the building) and a terrier. If you are bringing a pet, feel free to ask Patti about local parks, great dog walks and resources such as pet stores, pet sitting, vets and emergency animal hospitals.
Patti owns a design shop in San Francisco's Dogpatch neighborhood - Industrious Life. With a background in art and design, she's also a great source of information about the local museums, galleries, etc.
