I wanted to take my fiancé James away for his birthday, and for us to have a bit of time together, away from the stresses of everyday life. Jenny's beautiful Shepherd's Hut and land was everything we had hoped for, and more.
When we arrived Jenny was extremely accommodating, taking the time to show us around each of the huts (the bedroom, kitchen, and bathroom) and the fire-pit area and fairy garden. Each of the huts are beautiful with a wonderful sense of character. I particularly liked the decoration in the bathroom hut, with all the bottles and trinkets which are interesting to look at while taking a hot soak in the gorgeous free-standing bath. We had everything we needed, and Jenny left us in peace and quiet to enjoy our surroundings. The land is beautiful, so well looked after, and made all the better with Hector and Florence the ponies, and Zara the horse.
The bed was extremely comfortable and warm, and it was a bonus to wake up to beautiful blue skies on the Saturday morning, particularly as Friday had been a rather grey and wet evening! We spent time on Saturday chilling out, reading books, chatting, and just enjoying the views and the quiet.
The real highlight was the fire-pit. Even though it was raining on the Friday night we sat in front of the fire, toasting marshmallows (very kindly left for us by Jenny) and keeping warm. On the second night we did exactly the same but were able to watch a beautiful sunset!
The only downside we can think of is that we wish we had stayed for longer, to really take advantage of this little bit of paradise! Fortunately we live very close by, so will definitely be coming back. Thank you Jenny and family, and we look forward to seeing you again very soon!
