For our overseas guests and southern Australian guests we like to mention that as we are in tropical Brisbane, Australia, there may be mosquitoes, fly's, small wall spiders, cockroaches and ants. This is normal in and around most Queensland houses. Especially older homes like mine (1940) where there are plenty of gaps for them to come in. We use cockroach bates but you may still see a few at night in summer as they can fly.
If you spill any food in your room it is always a good idea to clean it up straight away to prevent attracting creepy crawlies. There is a green cloth in the bathroom you can use.
