For anyone needing to work temporarily at Harvard, Fiona's apartment would be an excellent option. It is very close to campus, within walking distance of subways, grocery stores, and restaurants. Fiona is helpful and willing to chat, but also gives you space if you need it. You definitely need to be dog friendly, as Chloe (Fiona's dog) has a unique personality and is very much another resident in the house. The two cats, Stringer and Zoe, keep to themselves for the most part. Everything about the apartment is great; it was a relief to my pocketbook to be able to cook everyday and the kitchen is well stocked with all kinds of cooking utensils and wares.
My stay at Fiona's was wonderful! I was there for four weeks in between moves and her place is so cute and in a prime location (very close to fun coffee shops, restaurants, and a large grocery store; also a short walk to the T and Harvard). She was so nice and allowed me to pile quite a bit of belongings in my room, and worked with me on my late check-out time. You must love animals to stay at her house though, she has two cute cats and a sweet dog :)
This lovely, comfy and homey spot is a short short short walk to Harvard square and the trains. The kitchen is handy, the bathroom shower is perfect, and the area is quiet and leafy. You should like pets, since there are two cats and a dog, but they made my week even more comfortable. No a/c for now, so check the weather. Great communication, easy and great time.
